Frame, deck and running surface
This treadmill features a steel frame, unibody with solid welding points. It’s powder coated with scratch-resistant and anti-corrosion paint, having a durable finish that will keep the machine’s looks as in day one, for many years. The machine is wheeled, having two wheels at the rear of the deck and two at the front, attached to the frame, considerably increasing it’s portability. Although it’s a wheeled machine, it won’t move during exercise, as it requires to be lifted at one of its ends in order to be moved. It pretty much rests on the front part, where the motor is.
The frame / deck assembly is foldable. The deck can be lifted up for the vertical storage of the device. However, the handlebar assembly can be folded down as well, and the machine can be stored horizontally. The arm rests are also foldable.
The deck gives this treadmill a footprint of 32″W x 63″L. In other words it’s a rather small treadmill, which makes it a great choice for small rooms or apartments. On the other hand, the running surface is not exactly one of the widest, measuring only 17″W x 51″L, therefore it’s not exactly a treadmill for tall users. The maximum user height for it is around 6’2″ (187 cm). Taller users can also workout on this treadmill, but they might find the running surface too small for a complete, healthy stride, during a jog or run. However, for walking it shouldn’t be a problem.
The belt equipped on this Yowza treadmill is a multi-layer PVC, with nylon-polyester bottom. It’s a heavy-duty belt, made to last for years of use, also being ultra-quiet, reducing from the thumping sound during a running workout. The deck is made of a 1-inch, triple laminated phenolic material, also wax impregnated to prevent moisture absorption. It also, features a built-in 8-point, spring encased cushioning system. Although any of the cushioning isn’t visible on the outside, as in other treadmills, you will feel it as you run, this machine being able to absorb quite an important amount from the running impact.
Incline system and motor
The incline system of this treadmill is pretty basic, but still offers two levels of incline, from 0° to roughly a 7° incline. The incline is adjusted manually, by folding the small feet with the transport wheels, situated at the rear of the deck. Even though it’s not an advanced, automatic, multi-level incline as in other models, it still doubles the spectrum of training possibilities.
The motor equipped on the Yowza Lido is a medium-range one, offering 2.5 continuous duty horse power. This means the treadmill can withstand long training sessions, even if used on the highest speed settings, without overheating, or losing performance. The speed supplied by it ranges from 0.5 to 8.8 MPH, just enough for anyone who wants to undergo consistent run on it. It’s also a very quiet motor, which shouldn’t interfere with the sound of your music or TV. The box includes the power cord for the motor, which requires to be plugged into a regular 110v circuit.
Console and IWM scale
The console supplied with the Yowza Fitness Lido treadmill is far from being a basic one. First of all, it can indicate all the values required by a runner to know during a workout, such as the speed setting, distance traveled, calories burned, time elapsed, and pulse. For tracking pulse, the main support tube of the console has built-in sensors. You must firmly hold onto them for the console to adjust and indicate your pulse.
Two important functions of this performance monitor are goal setting and tracking, and it’s built-in programs. In terms of goal tracking it offers the possibility to set up a calorie, distance or time goal, and display how much you’ve completed from it. The 3 preset programs, built into the console focus on automatic speed modification, and extend for durations of 20, 40 and 60 minutes. There’s also a manual mode (or Quick Start mode) which allows you to run / walk at your own pace, starting at 0.5 MPH and manually adjusting the speed from the Up / Down digits. The STOP and START digits give you the possibility to pause and resume your workout, without resetting the program or workout data already in progress.
The console can store up to 7 user profiles, great feature if the machine is used by multiple users or family members. It also features a safety key.
An important accessory included with this treadmill is Yowza IWM (Intelligent Weight Measurement) scale. This scale communicates wirelessly with the treadmill’s performance monitor, sending your current weight to it, in order to process and render your final training data as precisely as possible. In fact, the console also requires you to enter your gender, height and age, to be able to correctly display your calorie burned during a training session, and correctly adapt the calorie goal setting program according to your current data.
Although the treadmill is listed to support users only up to 250 lbs (113 kg), the scale can support weights up to 400 lbs (181.4 kg). It’s battery powered, requiring two AAA-type batteries, and it can display weight in kg/lbs.
Assembly and Maintenance
This treadmill comes fully assembled (console and all) and well-packed. All you need to do is take it out from the box, unfold it and start running. The hard part is taking it up a set of stairs, since it’s a heavy machine. For that, it’s best to ask another person for help.
Maintenance also doesn’t require much. All you have to do, is keep the belt clear of any debris or dirt. The belt also requires lubrication with the silicone spray provided, once a month, or at least after 100 km of use.

Needless to say, it meets its purpose flawlessly, being a great machine for cardio training, stamina building, muscle toning and losing weight. By working out for an hour on this treadmill, you can actually burn up to 5-600 calories.
