The ONETWOFIT OT0328 exercise bike features a frame made of 1.5 mm steel tubing. Most of the bars in its construction are cylindrical for a smooth, aesthetic touch. All the steel tubes are coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish; the color used is black, this being the only color available for this bike model, at least for the moment.
As we’ve mentioned above, the bike’s frame consists of two main pieces. The rear section that supports the seat attaches to the front section of the bike that holds the fitness monitor and the drive system. The base bar of the rear section basically acts as an adjustment tube for the seat.
The fully assembled bike is not too large. With the seat extended all the way to the back, it is approx. 51.1″ (130 cm) long, and 26.7″ (68 cm) wide. Its highest point is the top of the fitness monitor which reaches approx. 37″ (94 cm) above the floor. It is recommended, though, to also leave at least two feet of clearance all around the bike, for ease of access.
The bike isn’t too heavy either. Its net weight is 65 lbs (29.5 kg). This being said, it can be carried and assembled by only one person. Also, its front base bar features a set of small wheels so you can easily relocate it, if necessary.
The bike’s frame has a step-through design. This is a plus as it makes entry and exit much easier. Also, the curved section of the seat tube is reinforced by a thinner upright bar for extra sturdiness.
Seat and handlebars
The ONETWOFIT OT0328 recumbent bike is equipped with a seat designed for optimal comfort. To begin with, both the seat and the backrest sections integrate a thick layer of foam padding. They’re also covered by a layer of vinyl material which is easy to maintain and sweatproof as well.
The seat pad section is approx. 13.7″ (35 cm) wide and 10.2″ (26 cm) deep. The backrest is 14.5″ (36 cm) long, and 11.8″ (30 cm) wide. Thus, the seat offers plenty of contact surface and lumbar support. Also, the spacing between the two seat handlebars is over 24″ (61 cm).
As we’ve mentioned above, the whole frame section that holds the seat is adjustable. Its base bar has 7 holes and offers an adjustment span of approx. 8″ (20 cm). Therefore, the bike should be able to accommodate users between 5’1″ and 6’3″ (155 – 190 cm) with no problem. It’s important to mention, though, that the backrest does not adjust independently from the seat.
The bike is equipped with two sets of handlebars. One is attached to the seat, the other to the front upright mast. The seat handlebars integrate metallic pulse sensors. The front handlebar assembly is slightly curved in order to provide a better grip. None of the handlebars are adjustable. Both handlebars have rubber-foam sleeves for an improved grip.
The ONETWOFIT OT0328 recumbent exercise bike is equipped with a magnetic resistance system. Theresistance adjustment is completely manual; the bike does not have a servo motor so you don’t need a power adapter or a power cord for it. But on the other hand, the fitness monitor is not connected to the resistance system and cannot make automatic adjustments.
The bike’s resistance system consists of a magnetic brake which is connected to the tension knob on the front mast, under the handlebars. By turning this knob, the magnetic brake moves either closer or farther from the internal flywheel. This increases or decreases the pedaling difficulty.
The main advantage of the magnetic brake is that the magnets do not touch the flywheel. Therefore, there is no internal friction so the pedaling motion is very smooth and quiet. Also, you don’t have to worry about replacing brake pads as it is necessary for most bikes with a friction resistance system.
The bike’s brake offers 8 levels of resistance. The 1-3 levels deliver a fairly low pedaling difficulty, great for warm-ups or recovery training. Conversely, the 7-8 tension levels provide considerably more resistance, great for stamina development and stabilizing muscle.
The ONETWOFIT OT0328 is a pretty light fitness bike so its internal flywheel is not too heavy. Although several sources specify a 40 lbs (18.1 kg) flywheel, this is inaccurate. The bike is equipped with an 8.8 lbs (4 kg) flywheel like most other exercise bikes in this price and feature range.
The bike’s flywheel has a perimeter-weighted design meant to provide superior inertia. This being said, the pedaling motion is very smooth and stable. The flywheel is also bi-directional. This means you can pedal in reverse. Also, in case you’re wondering, when pedaling in reverse the resistance remains constant given by the selected level and the fitness monitor continues to track your workout metrics.
The bike features a durable crankset with cylindrical, chrome-plated arms. The included pedals are fairly large, with a textured surface and adjustable straps for improved foot stability. They are also weighted in order to self-level when you remove your feet from them.
Like most other exercise bikes with a magnetic resistance system, the ONETWOFIT recumbent bike is equipped with a belt drive system. It integrates a poly-v belt designed for superior traction. As opposed to a chain drive, the belt does not need lubrication. It also contributes to the overall smoothness of the ride as it generates slightly less vibration than a chain drive.
The ONETWOFIT OT0328 exercise bike includes a fitness monitor similar to the one included with the MarcyPro JX-7301. However, as opposed to the one on the Marcy model, this one also has a pulse reading function. It has an LCD display that tracks time, speed, distance, total distance, calories, and pulse.
The monitor unit does not have Bluetooth connectivity, it is not compatible with any fitness apps, and does not have pre-set programs. However, it has countdown modes for time, distance, and calories. Therefore, you can set a workout goal for any of these three metrics, and the unit will count down from the selected value.
The monitor unit has three buttons – Mode, Set, and Reset. The Mode button allows you to select the workout metric that you want to view or select the Scan Mode. The Reset button clears all the values on the monitor to zero, except the odometer. The Set button is for setting the desired workout goals for time, distance, or calories burned.
The fitness monitor is battery-powered and requires a set of two AAA batteries. These are not included, though. It begins tracking your workout data when you begin pedaling. It also automatically turns off after a few minutes of inactivity on the bike. And finally, the monitor also integrates a small shelf that you can use as a holder for your phone or tablet.
Assembly and Maintenance
The bike’s drive and resistance unit comes pre-assembled and attached to the front frame piece. The rest of the parts do require user assembly, though. You will basically have to attach the two base stabilizers, insert the rear frame section into the front section and secure it with the provided knob, attach the seat pads, the pedals, the front mast, the handlebars, and the fitness monitor. This shouldn’t take more than an hour. All the tools are included and the manual provides fairly decent assembly instructions.
Once the bike is assembled, you don’t have to do much for maintenance. It’s recommended to keep the bike clean, lubricate the joints if they begin to squeak, and periodically check for loose bolts. The internal mechanism does not require lubrication.
