Frame & deck
The Goplus Black Jaguar III combines steel and ABS parts in its construction. The structural frame of the deck, the front base, and the console masts are made of steel tubing. The side rail covers, the motor cover, and the dashboard that incorporates the console are made of ABS material.
The deck is solid enough to support users up to 250 lbs (113 kg). It’s equipped with a durable rubber belt which offers a running surface a bit wider than the Goplus Jaguar I. Its running platform is 50″L x 18″W (127 x 46 cm), and this being said, the machine should be able to accommodate comfortably users up to 6’0″ (183 cm), or even taller users, if they only use it for walking or light jogging.
The fully assembled machine is considerably smaller than a commercial unit, such as the Body-Solid T100, for example. However, it still takes 64″L x 28″W (163 x 74 cm) of floor space, so it is recommended to assign a usage surface for it of at least 100″ x 50″ (254 x 127 cm).
The unit’s net weight is approx. 132 lbs (~60 kg). However, its front metallic base integrates transport wheels which allow you to easily relocate the unit, once it was assembled.
This Goplus treadmill features a folding design, though. Its deck can be folded up. The folding mechanism involves a hydraulic cylinder which serves as an assist element when unfolding the deck, preventing you from dropping it. With the deck folded up, the machine’s length is reduced to 41″ (104 cm) offering better storage possibilities. Also, by folding the deck up, you can easily vacuum under the unit.
The deck incorporates a cushioning system similar to the one on the Black Jaguar I. It has two silicone cushioning elements, one on each side, which considerably reduce the vibration generated by your foot strokes. Therefore, jogging or running on this machine results in less impact on your joints.
Last but not least, the steel parts of the machine are coated with a corrosion-resistant paint. The color used is black. In fact, most of the machine is black, the only orange elements are the side cushioning elements and the side edges of the rail covers.
Incline & step-up height
As we’ve mentioned above, the Goplus Black Jaguar III is equipped with a motorized incline system. It uses a small motor and a lift situated at the front of the deck in order to elevate the front of the deck providing several degrees of incline. Evidently, since the incline system is motorized, it can only be adjusted from the console or from the controls integrated into the left handgrip.
The machine provides an incline range between 0% and 15%. The adjustment increments are 1%. Also, apart from the gradual adjustment controls, the console has quick incline selection controls for the 3%, 6%, and 9% positions.
There’s one more aspect to mention here with regards to the incline system. The console has several programs that also involve the incline adjustment, not only the speed adjustment. Therefore, when one of these programs is in use, the machine will auto-adjust the incline, depending on the current workout segment.
With the incline set at 0%, the running surface of the machine is placed at approx. 7″ (18 cm) above floor level. By adjusting the incline all the way up, the front of the deck is elevated by a few extra inches. Therefore, in order to avoid any ceiling issues, it’s recommended to use this machine in a room with a ceiling that is at least 20″ (51 cm) higher than your own height.
Motor
The Goplus Black Jaguar III is equipped with a 2.5 HP motor. Needless to say, this is not an extremely powerful motor, but still offers a speed range between 0.5 MPH and 10 MPH. The speed adjustment increments are 0.1 MPH. This type of micro-adjustment gives you the possibility to find the perfect pace for your stride and for your workout.
Just as for the incline, the console offers gradual speed adjustment controls and quick speed selection controls. The quick controls are for the 2 MPH, 4 MPH, and 8 MPH speed settings. The right handgrip of the machine also integrates controls for gradual speed adjustment.
The machine’s motor doesn’t generate high levels of noise. In fact, is fairly quiet. The cadence noise is also reduced by the side shock absorption elements.
Last but not least, since it’s a light capacity motor, it doesn’t consume too much electricity, so you won’t have to deal with high electricity bills.
Console
This Goplus treadmill is equipped with a mid-range console, which features a 5″ LCD display with LED backlight. It tracks time, distance, calories, and pulse. Of course, the current speed and incline settings are displayed as well.
The console is not telemetric. This being said, it can only track your pulse via the integrated grip sensors. It is not compatible with any ANT or Polar HR chest strap transmitters.
There are 24 workout programs pre-loaded into the console. Some of them only adjust the speed of the walking belt, others use both the incline and the speed. Some of them are great for burning calories, others are classic interval workouts, while others are great for developing stamina.
The console also has a Bluetooth feature. Differently put, you can sync it with your phone or tablet via the “Smart Treadmill” app, in order to save your workouts, track your progress, or share your workout results with your friends on social media.
The console dashboard integrates two accessory holders, which are spacious enough to accommodate most hydration bottles or other accessories that you might need to keep at hand while exercising. Plus, there is a small shelf placed above the unit’s controls and under the display, which can serve as support for your phone or tablet.
Assembly & Maintenance
The deck of the unit comes pre-assembled. In other words, the incline and drive motors are already in their places, as well as the belt, rollers an the other drive elements. The only parts that require assembly are the front masts, and the console. This task shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. Some of the tools needed for the assembly are included, and the manual provides step-by-step assembly instructions.
For maintenance, the belt requires periodic lubrication. The manual provides detailed instructions about this. It’s also recommended to periodically clean the belt un underneath the machine. And finally, inspecting the unit for loose or damaged parts before any workout can help prevent accidents or damage to it.
