The Goplus Black Jaguar I is very similar in specs and features to the Black Jaguar II which we’ve already presented here. It’s a light-capacity walking treadmill featuring a small footprint and a folding design. However, it does provide a decent speed range, so you can even jog on it.

Frame and deck construction

The Goplus Black Jaguar I treadmill has a steel frame construction. However, as we’ve mentioned above, it’s a light capacity treadmill rated for users only up to 220 lbs (100 kg). Also, since it’s a walking treadmill, its walking platform is smaller than for other machines. Its deck offers a walking surface of 47″L x 15.5″W (119 x 39 cm). This should be enough for users up to 6’0″ (183 cm) for walking and even jogging workouts. However, if you’re taller, you might want to opt for a machine with a longer and wider deck, such as the ProForm 905 CST or the Schwinn 870.

The fully assembled machine isn’t extremely large. It is approx. 62″ (157 cm) long, and 26.5″ (67 cm) wide. However, it is recommended to leave at least one foot of clearance on each side of it, and at least two feet of clearance at the rear of the deck, for safe usage. But on the other hand, its frame is foldable. The deck can be folded and locked in an upright position. The folding mechanism consists of a hydraulic cylinder which assists you when unfolding the deck. These being said, not only that you can reduce its length by approx. half to save space when you’re not using it, its folding system offers the possibility to vacuum under the unit more easily.

The machine isn’t extremely heavy compared to other treadmills It’s approx. 96.5 lbs (44 kg). However, its front base still features a set of transport wheels to facilitate its relocation.

Even though it’s a treadmill made for walking, its deck integrates a set of cushioning elements. It is equipped with two large silicone pads, one on each side, in order to reduce vibration and minimize the impact on your joints during walking and jogging.

Last but not least, the machine’s frame features a black paint coating which is resistant to corrosion. The Goplus logo is painted white/blue on the sides of the front masts. Also, the side rail covers and the motor cover are made of durable ABS material.

Incline and step-up height

The Goplus Black Jaguar I treadmill features a manual incline system, similar to the XTERRA TR150. It consists of two folding “feet” at the rear of the deck. Each foot has three adjustment notches; thus, you can lock it in the desired position via a pop-pin.

Evidently, since the machine’s incline system is manual, you cannot control it from the console. You have to step off the belt when you want to adjust the incline. Also, it’s recommended to stop the belt from moving when you adjust the incline.

The maximum incline provided by the two rear feet isn’t extraordinary. If you lock them in a completely folded position, the deck will have a few degrees of incline. But even so, you can still add a bit more difficulty to your workouts.

The deck step-up height is approx. 8″ (20 cm). This being said, it’s recommended to place and use the machine in a room with a ceiling height that is at least 15″ (38 cm) higher than your own height.

Motor

Since it’s a walking treadmill, the Goplus Black Jaguar I doesn’t have an extremely powerful motor. It’s equipped with a 2.25 HP Impulse Max Motor which delivers enough power and performance for walking and jogging. It’s also powerful enough to provide a smooth motion of the belt even if the user is close to 220 lbs (100 kg).

The integrated Impulse Max Motor provides a speed range between 0.5 MPH and 7.5 MPH. The speed of the belt can be adjusted in increments of 0.1 MPH. The console has controls for gradual speed adjustment, but there also are quick speed selection controls for the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 speed settings. Also, the right handgrip of the machine features gradual adjustment speed controls.

Since it’s a motorized machine, this Goplus treadmill requires to be connected to a 110 V power source. It comes with a US standard 3-prong plug and a few feet of cable.

The motor itself is pretty silent. Also, since the deck integrates shock absorption elements, your cadence doesn’t generate too much noise even if you’re jogging.

Console

This Goplus treadmill is equipped with a programmable console. It features a 5″ diagonal LCD display. Several sources refer to it as a “Blue-Ray LCD display” but this only regards its integrated blue LED backlight. The unit does not play Blu-ray discs.

The console tracks the most important workout metrics. It shows time, distance, speed, calories burned, and pulse. It is not telemetric, though. In other words, it cannot communicate with an HR chest strap transmitter. Thus, in order to benefit from a pulse reading, you have to hold on to the sensors mounted into the machine’s side grips.

The console does not have Bluetooth or online capabilities. However, it does have 12 preset workout programs. These offer various workouts; some of them are designed for burning calories, others for improving stamina. You can select a heart rate zone, and the machine will adjust its speed in order to keep you within its HR interval.

There is also a race track function. This shows the distance as a race track in the middle of the display. Each lap of the track is approx. 400m (1/4 miles), and the application keeps count of your completed laps.

The console does not have a sound system or a cooling fan. However, its dashboard does feature two large accessory trays which can also accommodate most hydration bottles and a tablet holder placed above the main controls of the unit.

Assembly and Maintenance

This Goplus treadmill is shipped in a large box which weighs more than 100 lbs. Therefore, its transport requires two people.

The machine is partially assembled. In other words, the deck with its motor, belt, rollers and other elements, comes in one piece. You only have to add the front masts and the console, plug the unit in, and you should be ready to go. This shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes. Some of the assembly tools are included. Also, the manual provides pretty clear assembly instructions.

For maintenance, it’s recommended to lubricate the deck periodically. Treadmill silicone lubricant works best for it. Other than this, it’s important to keep the walking belt clean, and periodically vacuum under it, to prevent any small objects or textile fibers to be dragged into the motor.
