Dumbbell construction
The FLYBIRD 25 lbs dumbbell features a metal and plastic construction. Its handle is made of durable
aluminum alloy which can hold the weight plates with no problem. Its grip has a convex shape for improved ergonomics. It also features several knurled areas for improved contact.
The weight plates are also made of metallic alloy (steel or aluminum, not specified). All of them are fully covered by a thick layer of durable thermoplastic material (probably polypropylene). Evidently, this type of construction comes with a series of advantages and disadvantages. To begin with, since they are selectorized, you can easily change weights without the usual loading and unloading of plates that is characteristic to standard cast iron plates. With a simple handle twist, you can pick up the desired weight.

Adjustment system
The FLYBIRD 25 lbs adjustable dumbbell features a twistlock adjustment system. The weight selector is 
basically the handle. You simply place the dumbbell in its tray making sure that the plates are correctly aligned in their slots, twist the handle and choose the desired weight, and lift the dumbbell up. The handle should pick the corresponding number of plates to the selected weight.
Unlike the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, the FLYBIRD dumbbell can only pick the same number of plates on each side. When you twist the handle, it will select the same number of plates on each head. Therefore, you won’t be able to create an off-set weight. This shouldn’t be a major inconvenience, though.
