Frame construction

The Fitness Reality X Class power tower features an extremely sturdy construction, designed to offer maximum stability. It has a weight capacity of 400 lbs (approx. 181 kg), which means you can perform weighted dips, or pull-ups, for example, adding quite a bit of weight to your own, without worrying that the frame will bend or tip over.

This exercise tower features a rather wide footprint, being approx. 63″ long (161 cm) and 40″ (101 cm) wide, having a center of gravity quite close to the ground, aspects that are also reflected in its overall stability. The heads of the bases are equipped with rubber pads which not only enhance stability, they also provide a bit of protection for your floors. Plus, the ends of each base have holes already drilled into them so you can anchor the tower to the floor if you think it’s necessary.

The bases feature a curved design at the front. Therefore, they provide an easy step-up and access to the dip bars. All the bars in the frame construction feature a square design, which provides superior structural sturdiness. But nonetheless, the handles are cylindrical, in order to provide a comfortable grip.

In case you’re wondering, the frame doesn’t fold, nor it has any wheels which would facilitate its relocation.

Although the base width is 40″, the total width of the machine is given by the pull-up handles, the distance between their ends being 49″ (124.5 cm). The distance between the dip bars is 22″ (56 cm) near the frame, and approx. 25″ (63.5 cm) at their outer end, as they flare out.

When it comes to the machine’s height, its top reaches approx. 83″ (211 cm). Although it may fit in a room with a 7′ ceiling, the remaining clearance above will be almost non-existent, resulting in incomplete pull-ups. Therefore, it’s best to assemble and use this fitness trainer in a room with at least an 8′ ceiling.

Given all the dimensions stated above, the machine is designed to accommodate users of all heights. However, taller users above 6’3″ – 6’4″ may need to bend their knees a bit when performing pull-ups or chin-ups. This should hardly be an issue, as many users actually prefer to keep knees slightly bent anyway, during this type of exercises.

When fully assembled, the frame weighs approx. 150 lbs (63 kg). This weight is reflected in its overall sturdiness and stability.

The backrest and armrests of the dip station feature thick padding thick padding. They deliver the maximum comfort possible. In fact, the backrest is 3″ thick, and the armrests are 2.25″ thick and also angled inward, supplying excellent comfort for the forearms during various exercises, such as knee raises for example. The upholstery on the armrests and backrest is made of highly durable vinyl material.

The tower’s handles are rubberized, providing a secure grip, and preventing hands from blistering due to repeated use. The machine actually features 6 sets of handles, and one of them is adjustable. The adjustable handlebars also integrate foam rollers for various exercises such as sit-ups or one-leg squats.

Workout stations

The Fitness Reality X Class Multi-Function Power Tower features three main workout stations:

Pull-up station. This consists of 3 sets of handlebars: straight inner handles for close grip pull-ups, curved, outer handles for wide grip pull-ups, and parallel handles for parallel pull-up exercises.
