The YOSUDA L-010 is one of the indoor cycling bikes released in 2021. It’s pretty similar in terms of features and design to the YOSUDA L-007A that we’ve already covered here. However, this particular model is equipped with a magnetic resistance system (not friction). It also includes a different fitness monitor and an adjustable device holder.

Frame construction

The YOSUDA L-010 indoor cycling bike features a frame made of steel tubing. It combines oval and rectangular tubes in its construction with precision-welded joints for improved sturdiness. The main frame and the base bars are double-coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish, black in color. The seat and handlebar posts have a chrome finish. This also goes for the bike’s flywheel.

The frame features a step-up bar. Not all spin bikes have this feature. It’s the small horizontal bar that unites the seat tube with the main oblique tube. This element not only offers the possibility to perform stretches, or step-up/step-down workouts, it also improves the structural sturdiness of the frame.

The bike also integrates several plastic parts. For example, the drive train cover, the side covers of the flywheel, and the brake cover are made from a durable thermoplastic material. They combine black, white, and orange colors to fit the rest of the bike.

The YOSUDA L-010 is a medium-sized exercise bike. With all the parts assembled, it is approx. 41″ (104 cm) long, and 22″ (56 cm) wide. It is recommended, though, to allow at least two feet of clearance all around it for ease of access and unhindered usage.

The bike is fairly heavy. Its net weight is approx. 80 lbs (36 kg). This weight delivers plenty of stability. Plus, both base bars have adjustable levelers. The front base also has a set of small wheels for easy relocation.

Seat and handlebars

The YOSUDA L-010 is equipped with a high-comfort saddle. To begin with, it’s built on a durable shell made of nylon material. It integrates a thick layer of foam padding with a durable vinyl cover. It has a median groove for improved breathability. Plus, it has two suspension springs at the rear which enables it to adapt perfectly to your movement during seated workouts.

The seat is four-way adjustable. Its upright post offers approx. 8″ (20 cm) of adjustment while its horizontal slider adds several inches for front-to-back adjustment. Therefore, the bike should be able to accommodate users between 5’1″ (155 cm) and 6’4″ (193 cm) with no problem.

One important aspect to mention here regards the bike’s weight capacity. Although multiple sources (including the official YOSUDA website) specify a 350 lbs (159 kg) weight limit for this bike, the manual indicates only a 330 lbs (150 kg) weight capacity. Therefore, we don’t recommend this indoor cycling bike to users heavier than 330 lbs (150 kg).

Similar to the seat, the bike’s handlebar has four-way adjustability. Its upright post offers 8″ of adjustment, from 42″ (107 cm) to 50″ (127 cm), while its horizontal slider adds approx. 2″ (5 cm) of front to back adjustment. An adjustable tablet holder is included with the bike as well. This should be able to accommodate just about any type of tablet.

The bike’s handlebar features a multi-grip design. It offers the possibility to adopt a climbing grip, a cruising grip, an off-road grip, and a close grip. It is fully covered by a layer of PVC foam for a secure and comfortable grip. It does not have pulse sensors, though.

Resistance system

The YOSUDA L-010 indoor cycling trainer is equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system, similar to the Sunny Health & Fitness Pro II SF-B1964. This being said, you don’t need a power adapter or a power cord for it. But on the other hand, the bike cannot adjust the resistance automatically.

The resistance system consists of a magnetic brake connected to the frame above the flywheel. It is also attached to the tension knob on top of the main frame tube. Thus, when you turn the knob left or right, the magnets change their position in relation to the flywheel which increases or decreases the pedaling difficulty.

The bike’s tension knob does not have pre-determined resistance levels. However, on a micro-level, multiple resistance levels can be distinguished. As a general idea, when the magnets are at their farthest point from the flywheel, the bike provides a fairly light pedaling difficulty. Conversely, with the magnets all the way down, the bike simulates a steep climb.

The bike’s brake also has a small felt pad at the front while the knob can be pressed down to stop the flywheel from spinning. This can be quite necessary especially when you’ve been pedaling at a high speed because the flywheel is heavy and stopping from the pedals with your feet can lead to injuries.

Drive system

The YOSUDA L-010 indoor cycle is equipped with a 40 lbs (18.1 kg) flywheel, similar to most commercial-grade spin bikes. It has a perimeter-weighted construction for improved inertia. As we’ve mentioned above, it is chrome-plated with protective side panels made from thermoplastic material.

The flywheel is bi-directional. This being said, you can pedal in reverse. This offers the possibility to focus different muscle groups. Also, when pedaling in reverse, the resistance remains constant, given by the selected magnetic pull.

Like most other exercise bikes with a magnetic resistance system, this YOSUDA bike is equipped with a belt drive system. It integrates a poly-v belt designed for superior traction. As opposed to a chain drive, the belt does not require lubrication. It also generate slightly less vibration than a chain.

The bike is equipped with a heavy-duty crankset with steel arms. The pedals are also made of a metallic alloy featuring a non-slip design. They have adjustable toe cages but they are not SPD compatible. Their threads are 9/16 standard, though, so you can always replace them with SPD pedals.

Fitness monitor

The fitness monitor included with the YOSUDA L-010 offers a few extra features over a basic model, even though it’s not exactly an advanced one. First of all, its display is divided into three sub-sections, and it can show up to four workout metrics at once. It tracks time, speed, distance, total distance (odometer), RPM, and calories burned.

Speed and distance are shown in MPH and miles; there is no option for setting them to km/h or kilometers. The unit does not have a pulse reading function. Therefore, you cannot sync it with a wireless heart rate transmitter.

The monitor unit does not connect to the bike’s resistance system. It does not show the resistance level. It does not have pre-set workout programs or Bluetooth connectivity. It also isn’t compatible with any fitness apps.

The monitor unit is battery-powered. Once it is turned on, it can only be turned off if you remove the batteries. However, it does have a stand-by mode which activates if the unit does not detect flywheel movement for more than four minutes. In standby mode, it displays a clock.

Assembly and Maintenance

The bike’s main body comes pre-assembled. The flywheel, the crankset, the belt, and the resistance system are already in their places. You only need to attach the two base bars, the seat, the handlebars, the pedals, the fitness monitor, and the device holder. This shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. All the necessary tools are included and the manual provides pretty decent assembly instructions.

For maintenance, you only have to keep the bike clean. The drivetrain does not require lubrication. It is also recommended to periodically check for loose bolts and parts.
