The pooboo S322 is one of the upright bikes released in 2021. In terms of features and design, it is similar to the pooboo S211 that we’ve already covered here. The only difference between the two is the color theme. It’s a bike made for home use but does have a pretty decent construction, with a frame similar to light-commercial bikes.

As we’ve mentioned above, the pooboo S322 features a pretty durable frame construction, similar to light-commercial grade upright exercise bikes. The bike’s frame is made of steel, combining rectangular, triangular, and cylindrical tubes in its construction. All the steel parts are coated with a corrosion-resistant and abrasion-resistant paint finish. The color used is gray.
The covers of the bike’s drive and resistance parts are made of durable ABS material. There are several other small plastic parts and covers in the unit’s construction, but these have mostly a protective or cosmetic role and should not reduce the overall sturdiness of the bike. The S322 is rated for a maximum user weight limit of 300 lbs (136 kg).
The bike is not too large. With all the parts assembled, it is approx. 42.9″ (109 cm) long, and 23.6″ (60 cm) wide. Its highest point is the top of the handlebar which reaches approx. 56″ (142 cm) above the floor. Although the bike does not take too much space, it is recommended to leave at least two feet of clearance all around it. Differently put, the usage area for this bike should be approx. 90″L x 72″ (228 x 183 cm).
The pooboo S322 is a bit heavier than other home-use upright bikes. Its net weight is approx. 70 lbs (31.7 kg). Therefore, it can be carried and assembled by only one person. Once it is assembled, it is even easier to move as its front base stabilizer is equipped with transport wheels. Also, its rear stabilizer features adjustable levelers.
Seat and handlebars
The pooboo S322 exercise bike is equipped with a pretty standard saddle. It is built on a sturdy nylon shell; its top cover is made of a thick layer of PVC foam. It is pretty large, approx. 12.6″L x 11.8″W (32 x 30 cm) so it provides plenty of contact surface. It is also contoured for improved breathability. Its base consists of a triangular plate which connects to the seat post slider via three screws.
The bike’s seat is four-way adjustable (up, down, front, back). Its upright post features several adjustment positions while its horizontal slider offers a few extra inches of front-to-back adjustment. These being said, the bike should be able to accommodate users between 5’0″ and 6’4″ (153 – 193 cm) with no problem, allowing a complete leg extension.
The bike’s handlebar is non-adjustable. It attaches directly to the upright mast of the bike. The mast is also fixed; it does not offer upright adjustability either.
The handlebar features a multi-grip design. It offers the possibility to adopt a climbing grip, a cruising grip, a standard grip, and a wide aero grip. It features PVC foam sleeves for an improved grip and superior comfort. It is also equipped with metallic pulse sensors and the included fitness monitor does have a pulse reading function.
The pooboo S322 is equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. This type of resistance system comes with several advantages over a friction (felt brake) resistance system. First of all, the magnets do not touch any other internal parts, so there is no friction. This leads to a seamless pedaling motion. Also, since there is no internal friction between the bike’s resistance elements, the bike is almost completely silent during usage and the brake itself does not wear out.
The resistance system consists of an internal magnetic brake. This brake is attached to the flywheel system and connected to the tension knob on the right side of the front upright bar of the bike. Therefore, when you turn the knob, the magnets move closer or farther from the internal flywheel which increases or decreases the workout load.
Since the bike’s resistance system is manual magnetic, it does not require a power cord or adapter. The only power source is the battery set needed for the fitness monitor. However, the bike itself cannot adjust the resistance and the monitor unit does not have workout programs.
The pooboo S322 makes available 14 levels of resistance. This is a plus because many other upright bikes for home use only offer up to 8 tension levels. The 1-3 levels deliver a fairly low pedaling difficulty, great for warm-ups or recovery training. Conversely, the 12-14 tension levels provide considerably more resistance, great for stamina development and stabilizing muscle.
Like most other magnetic resistance upright exercise bikes, the pooboo S322 is equipped with a belt drive system. It integrates a poly-v belt designed for superior traction. This type of transmission comes with several advantages over a chain drive. For example, the belt generates less vibration than a chain. Also, it does not require periodic lubrication.
The bike features a durable crankset with flattened arms similar to road bikes. They’re also a bit longer than for the average upright exercise bike. The pedals are pretty large as well. They have a textured surface and adjustable straps for extra foot stability. They also have weight elements so they also self-level if you remove your feet from them.
The bike’s internal flywheel is perimeter-weighted. This type of construction leads to improved inertia. Therefore, even though the flywheel is not too heavy, it still provides a pretty consistent momentum. Its exact weight is not specified, but as a general idea, it probably isn’t heavier than 25 lbs (11.3 kg).
The flywheel is bi-directional. In other words, the bike allows pedaling in reverse. This being said, you can alternate forward pedaling sessions with reverse pedaling sessions to focus different muscle groups. It’s important to mention, though, that coasting on this bike is not possible. That’s because the pedals continue to spin for as long as the internal flywheel is spinning.
The pooboo S322 is equipped with a pretty standard fitness monitor. It offers the same range of features as the unit included with the Stamina 15-1345a recumbent bike. It features an LCD display (without backlight) that tracks time, distance, total distance, speed, calories, and pulse. It does not have an RPM reading function. Also, it is not telemetric. This means it can only read your pulse if you hold on to the sensors integrated into the bike’s handlebar.
The monitor unit does not have online connectivity or pre-set workout programs. However, it does offer the possibility to set goals for your workouts for time, distance, and calories. If a goal is set for any of these workout metrics, the unit will countdown from the selected value and always show the remaining amount from the goal.
The unit has three buttons. The Mode button allows you to select the workout metric that you want to view or select the Scan Mode. In Scan Mode, the unit rotates all the metrics showing each one for approx. 6 seconds. The Reset button clears all the data on the unit. And finally, the Set button covers the goal-setting function.
The monitor unit requires two AA batteries as power source. It begins counting your stats as you begin pedaling. It also automatically turns off after a few minutes of inactivity on the bike. And finally, there is a device holder integrated into the monitor unit. This consists of a small shelf under the unit’s controls on which you can place your phone or tablet. However, there are no connection ports for any device on it.
Assembly and Maintenance
The pooboo S322 does require some assembly. The base body of the bike comes pre-assembled. However, you still have to attach the two base bars, the console mast, the seat post, the saddle, the handlebar, the fitness monitor, and the pedals. This shouldn’t take more than an hour. The manual provides pretty clear assembly instructions. Also, all the necessary tools are included.
For maintenance, you only have to keep the bike clean and wipe the sweat that may fall on the frame at the end of your workout. The internal parts do not require lubrication. It is also recommended to periodically inspect the bike to make sure that all the parts are functioning properly, and all the bolts hold tight in their places.
