The MBH TF01 is one of the power towers released in 2021. It offers a few extra features over the average power tower in this price range. For example, as opposed to the CityBirds model, its height and armrest length are adjustable. It’s also an affordable model, currently priced under $200.

Key Features and Specifications

  • Assembled dimensions: 41.3L x 40.6W x 86.6H inches (105L x 103W x 220H cm)
  • Shipping weight: 55 lbs (24.95 kg)
  • Weight capacity: 330 lbs (150 kg)
  • Possible exercises: 25+
  • Warranty: 1 year limited

Frame construction

The MBH TF01 power tower features a durable steel frame made of rectangular tubing. The only cylindrical tubes in its construction are its grips and the top pull-up bar. All the steel frame tubes are coated with a rust-resistant and chip-resistant paint finish. However, it’s important to mention here that this is a tower for indoor use. If kept outside, its bolds and other small parts may catch rust.

This MBH power tower does not take too much space. Its footprint is only 41.3″ (105 cm) long, and approx. 28″ (71 cm) wide, however, its pull-up bar is wider (40.6″). It has a pretty decent stability on its own and its base bars do not have pre-drilled holes for anchoring it to the floor. However, due to the small footprint, it may wobble during certain exercises, such as around the world pull-ups, for example. It’s also recommended to leave at least two feet of clearance on each side of the tower, and at least three-four feet of clearance at the front.

One of the best features of this power tower is its height adjustability. The top sections of the two upright bars have 8 adjustment holes. The highest point of the tower is 86.6″ (220 cm), so if you want it at this height, it won’t fit in a room with a 7-foot (213 cm) ceiling. At its lowest position, its height is approx. 62.2″ (158 cm). The spacing between the adjustment holes is 3.15″ (8 cm).

Another important feature to mention here is the set of step-up bars that connect to the base joints of the tower. Not all power towers have this feature. These not only help you reach the top bar with ease without jumping, they also reinforce the base of the unit.

Last but not least, the MBH power tower is not a super-heavy home gym. Its net weight is approx. 54 lbs (24.5 kg), so it’s not too difficult to carry, assemble, or move even after assembly. But once again, even though most of its weight is in its base, it may not offer the super stability of a commercial power especially if you’re closer to its maximum weight limit.

Workout stations

Like most other power towers, the MBH Fitness TF01 offers three main workout stations. These are:

Pull-up & chinning station. This workout station offers the possibility to perform a number of pull-up and chin-up exercises. The consists of a 40.6″ (103 cm) wide bar featuring curved side grips and rubber foam covers for its mid-section area. The pull-up bar does not have parallel grips, though, as is the case for other power towers, such as the Body Champ VKR1987. But on the other hand, since the whole top section of the tower is adjustable, you can have it at different heights between 62.2″ and 86.6″ (158 – 220 cm).

Dip & leg raise station. The MBH Fitness power tower is equipped with two armrests that allow the execution of leg raises. They also have additional grips that give you the possibility to perform dips. The two armrests are cushioned; their cushions and grips are inclined inward for a natural arm and hand positioning, reducing the stress on the joints during leg raises or dips.

The unit’s elbow rests and backrest feature approx. 1.6″ (4 cm) of foam padding. Their covers are made from a durable faux leather material that is sweatproof and easy to maintain. The bars of the armrests are adjustable, offering an adjustment span of 14.2″ – 17.7″ (36 – 45 cm). The dimensions of the backrest are 9.8″L x 8.5″W (24.8 x 21.6 cm).

Push-up station. This MBH Fitness home gym is equipped with two low grips which offer the possibility to perform parallel grip push-ups. They have rubberized grips just like the pull-up bar and the dip arms. The distance between them is approx. 26″ (66 cm).

Since the push-up grips are placed at the front of the unit, it is recommended to leave at least several feet of clearance in this area, in case you will be performing push-ups by using these grips. Also, one or two feet of clearance on each side of the tower may be necessary if you’re going to perform side-to-side leg raises.

Possible Exercises

Like most other power towers with the aforementioned workout stations, the MBH Fitness TF01 offers the possibility to execute more than 25 exercises. The list includes:

  • Pull-ups
  • Wide grip pull-ups
  • Muscle pull-ups
  • Behind head pull-ups

Assembly and Maintenance

The MBH Fitness TF01 power tower comes packaged in only one box. It requires complete user assembly. The task is not too complicated but may take more than two hours. As a general idea, you will first have to put together the base, then add the two upright bars, close the top of the unit with the pull-up bar, then add the rest of the accessories. The manual offers pretty decent assembly instructions and a basic toolkit is included.

Since it doesn’t have any moving parts, the tower doesn’t need too much maintenance after assembly. All you have to do is keep the unit clean and periodically check for loose parts. Also, as we’ve mentioned above, this particular tower is for indoor use.
