Frame & deck
The frame structure of the Goplus Jaguar II is made of steel tubing; all the steel bars in its construction are powder-coated with a rust-resistance paint finish. The color used is black, with the Goplus logo painted white/blue. Of course, the machine also includes several ABS parts, such as the side rail covers, the cover of the motor, and the console dashboard.
The unit isn’t extremely large but does take approx. 61″L x 28″W (155 x 71 cm) of floor space. It’s also recommended to leave at least two feet of clearance at the rear, and at least one foot of clearance on each side, for maximum safety and ease of access.
On the other hand, the machine is foldable. The deck can be folded up and locked in an upright position. The folding mechanism involves a soft-drop system with a hydraulic cylinder which assists you when unfolding the deck to prevent any damage. With the deck folded up, the unit’s length is reduced to approx. 33″ (84 cm), while its height gains a few extra inches. This folding design not only that gives you the possibility to save space, but it also allows you to vacuum under the unit, which is recommended as a periodic maintenance.
The deck is rated for a maximum load of 250 lbs (113 kg), which is a pretty decent weight capacity for a walking treadmill. It offers a walking surface of 47″L x 17″W (119 x 43 cm). Therefore, it’s not a machine recommenced to taller users than 6’0″ (183 cm).
The deck is equipped with shock absorption elements. It has two silicone pads on each side which reduce vibration and a part of the shock generated by each footstrike. This being said, a walk or jog on this machine is more forgiving to your joints than a walk or jog on concrete or asphalt.
Incline & step-up height
The Goplus Jaguar II treadmill is equipped with an incline system, similar to the Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7603 treadmill. It consists of two foldable feet at the rear of the deck. Each foot has three adjustment notches and can be locked into a desired position via a pop-pin. These being said, the deck incline can only be adjusted manually, while the machine is not in use.
The two rear folding feet of the treadmill only provide a few degrees of incline. Evidently, this cannot be compared to the incline of a professional treadmill, but nonetheless, it still gives you the possibility to diversify and add a bit of extra difficulty to your workouts.
At 0° incline, the top of the deck stands at approx. 5″ (13 cm) above floor level. This being said, it’s recommended to use the machine in a room with a ceiling that is at least 10″ (25 cm) higher than your own height, to avoid any inconveniences.
Motor
As we’ve mentioned above, this Goplus Jaguar treadmill is designed for walking an jogging. Therefore, it’s only equipped with a 2.5 HP (~1 CHP) motor. It’s not a motor for intense running sessions but does provide a speed range between 0.5 MPH and 7.5 MPH. Also, it does perform well during long usage sessions, without overheating or losing performance. It’s also quiet, most of the noise generated during usage is due to the user’s cadence, and not by the motor.
Needless to say, since it’s a motorized treadmill, it requires being connected to a 110 V power source. It comes with a standard 3-prong plug.
The speed adjusts in increments of 0.1 MPH, which offers plenty of time adapt your pace. The unit’s console offers controls for gradual speed adjustment, but there also are controls for the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 speed settings. Plus, the machine’s handlebars integrate Start/Stop buttons and speed adjustment controls as well.
Console
The Goplus Jaguar II features a mid-range console equipped with a multi-window LCD display which offers the possibility to view all the workout metrics at once, without the need to use a scan function. The display also has blue LED backlight for better readability.
The workout metrics shown on the console are time, distance, speed, calories, and pulse. The unit is not telemetric; in other words, it cannot communicate with Polar or ANT+ HR chest strap transmitters. Therefore, in order to benefit from a pulse reading, you will have to use the stainless steel sensors integrated into the machine’s side handlebars.
The console unit does not have any online capabilities, nor it is compatible with any online fitness apps. However, it has 12 built-in programs to keep you motivated. Each program has its profile grid icon marked on the console, with a digit next to it for quick selection. When in use, a program will auto-adjust the machine’s speed, depending on its profile setup, with the exception of the quick start program which basically allows you to walk or jog freely, adjusting the resistance as you like during the workout.
The treadmill’s console unit doesn’t have fancy features such as a sound system or cooling fan, but its dashboard does integrate two large bottle holders. It’s also equipped with a tablet holder which is placed above the main controls of the unit.
Assembly & Maintenance
The deck of the machine comes pre-assembled, with its motor, belt, and rollers already in place. Therefore, all you need to do for assembly is attach the two front masts and the dashboard with the console. This shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes. The manual provides pretty clear assembly instructions and a basic toolkit for the task is included.
In terms of maintenance, the belt requires periodic lubrication. A small bottle of lubricant is included with the package. The deck should be kept clean to prevent any dirt, textile fibers or other small objects to be dragged into the motor. Also, it’s recommended to periodically check for loose or broken parts.
