There are several treadmills available under the Goplus brand name. Most of them are entry-level models, but there also are two mid-range models. In this review, we’ll address the one with the 2.5HP capacity motor, the one with the SP35367-MASTER model number.

Frame and deck construction

Compared to other running machines, such as the Body-Solid Endurance T100 for example, this Goplus treadmill is smaller. However, it still is a fairly large fitness machine, its assembled footprint being 66″L x 30″W (168 x 76 cm). But on the other hand, it features a folding design. With its deck folded up, its length is reduced by approx. 24″ (61 cm).

The fully assembled treadmill weighs 143 lbs (64.8 kg), weight that provides excellent stability. Its transport or relocation (once assembled) shouldn’t be a problem, though, as its bases feature transport wheels.

Needless to say, the machine’s frame is made of steel bars, featuring a corrosion-resistant coating, black in color.

The Goplus 2.5HP treadmill offers a running surface of 50″L x 18″W (127 x 46 cm). This means its running platform can accommodate users up to 6’0″ (183 cm). Taller users should still be able to run on it but may consider it too short for a complete stride. It uses a non-slip, heavy-duty rubber belt designed to last for many years of use. Also, the weight capacity of the running platform is 286 lbs (~130 kg), which is quite impressive for a machine of this caliber.

The treadmill’s deck also incorporates a cushioning element. It’s an Air Cushion, designed to absorb a part of the running impact, which results in less stress on the ankles and knees. This also reduces fatigue, which leads to longer, more consistent runs.

Incline & step-up height

This Goplus 2.5HP treadmill is equipped with a motorized incline system. This means that its incline is automatic and can only be adjusted from the control unit. There also are incline controls built-in the machine’s left handlebar. Its incline system consists of a small lift connected to the front base of the frame, which is powered by a small motor. When adjusting incline, the front part of the deck will slowly elevate.

The machine’s incline range is 0% – 15%, which is 5% more than the incline range of ProForm 400i, for example, which is pretty impressive for a treadmill within this spec range. The incline can be adjusted gradually, from the left arrow keys, or controls in the handlebar, but the control unit also has quick incline keys, for the 3,5,9,15 positions.

The deck has a step-up height of approx. 8″ (20 cm) at 0% incline, and will raise by a few inches when the incline is set at 15%. Differently put, in order to avoid any ceiling height issues, before ordering this Goplus treadmill make sure that the ceiling height in the room where you will be using it, exceeds your own height by at least 20″ (51 cm).

Motor

As the title suggests, this Goplus treadmill model uses a 2.5 HP motor, being a bit more powerful than the Ancheer S8100. However, it offers running speeds only up to 11 MPH. It’s not a motor designed for intense running speeds, therefore, this treadmill may not be the best choice for professional runners. But nonetheless, running at 8-10 MPH can still result in a consistent cardio workout. Also, it does perform well during long usage sessions, without overheating or losing performance. It’s also quiet, most of the noise generated during usage is due to the user’s cadence, and not by the motor.

Needless to say, since it’s a motorized treadmill, it requires being connected to an 110 V power source. It comes with a standard U.S. plug and cable.

Speed can be adjusted from the console keys, or the controls integrated into the right handlebar. The control unit also has keys for quick speed adjustment.

Console

The Goplus 2.5HP treadmill doesn’t have an extremely advanced control unit, but it definitely offers much more than a basic one. To begin with, it is equipped with a 5″ display, with blue backlight and large, easy to read digits. It tracks distance, heart rate, calories, and time, also indicating the current incline and speed levels.

The console is not telemetric. It means it cannot read your pulse via a wireless HR chest strap transmitter. So, in order to benefit from a pulse reading, you have to hold on to the EKG sensors built-in the handlebars.

Since it’s not a Bluetooth enabled console, you cannot sync it with your tablet or phone in order to use any online fitness apps. However, it features 12 onboard programs, which can help you diversify your training. By using one of these programs, the machine will auto-adjust its speed and incline. The programs are numbered from P1 to P12; each one has a suggestive icon under the console display, in order to give you an idea about the difficulty of the workout.

When it comes to amenities, the console of this Goplus treadmill is equipped with a sound system and a tablet holder. The sound system is compatible with almost any MP3 player, smartphone or tablet. It consists of two speakers, one on each side of the console. The sound rendered by them, although it’s not top quality, it’s still better than the sound provided by most smartphone or tablet integrated speakers. The tablet holder is long and deep enough to provide support for any type of tablet.

The console unit is very easy and straightforward to operate. First of all, it has keys for gradual and quick incline/speed control. The programs have their own key; by pressing it repeatedly you will scroll through them until you find the one that fits your requirements. The Mode key fulfills the selection function, while the Start/Stop keys give you the possibility to pause and resume your workout without losing your workout data. Evidently, like any other treadmill, this Goplus model has the magnetic safety key, which immediately shuts down the machine, and stops the belt.

Assembly and Maintenance

Most of the machine comes already assembled. In other words, the motors, the belt, and deck are already in their places. All you have to do is tighten the console masts in upright position and setup the console, which shouldn’t take more than 30-40 min.

For maintenance, it’s recommended to periodically check the machine for loose bolts and parts, and retighten them if necessary. The tread belt must be kept clean, free of any textile fibers, dirt or any other objects that may be caught in the motor. Also, the belt requires periodic lubrication.

Summary

Its console is not Bluetooth enabled but does offer 12 pre-set workouts to keep you motivated. Although it may not be the best choice for a professional runner, it’s perfect for anyone who wants to run a few miles every day. It’s an excellent machine for a decent daily cardio training, intervals, stamina development and weight loss. Finally, it’s not an expensive machine, actually offering excellent value for the price.
