The LifeSpan TR2000e treadmill shares many similarities with the TR3000e that we’ve previously reviewed here. In fact, these two running machines have the same construction and dimensions, but the TR2000e has a smaller motor and offers a speed range of only 0.5-11 MPH.
The TR2000e is a mid-range, folding electric treadmill. It’s intended for home use, that’s why LifeSpan doesn’t offer a commercial warranty for it. It’s a pretty decent machine adequate for many types of workouts and does offer an impressive array of features for a machine in this price range.

Frame & deck
The first aspect to mention here is that the LifeSpan TR2000e features a folding frame. It has the eFold™ electric folding system, which gives you the possibility to fold/unfold the deck with the press of a button. The main element of the folding mechanism is a hydraulic cylinder 
situated under the deck which lifts it or lowers it when needed.
With the deck folded up, the machine’s dimensions are approx. 50″L x 33″W x 56″H (127 x 84 x 142 cm). However, with the deck fully extended, its length is 71″ (180 cm). In other words, by folding the deck up you will gain only 21″ of free space lengthwise, which is not that much but can still help with the unit’s storage.
This LifeSpan treadmill is fairly heavy. It’s built on a durable, steel frame, and weighs approx. 211 lbs (95 kg). This being said, it’s recommended that the boxed unit is carried by two people. However, the fully assembled machine is fairly easy to relocate. Its base has four front-mounted and 2 rear-mounted wheels for convenient, all-direction mobility and easy storage.
There are several plastic parts in the unit’s construction, though. The side rails, for example, are made of non-slip, heavy-duty plastic. The motor cover and the console dashboard are also made of hard plastic. These don’t affect the overall sturdiness of the unit.
The LifeSpan TR2000e electric folding treadmill is equipped with an extremely sturdy, 3/4″ (~2 cm) phenolic deck. It can support users up to 300 lbs (136 kg), without permanently bending or breaking, which is quite impressive for a treadmill model in this price range. The deck is also cushioned. It features 8 independent compression shocks which alleviate up to 
30% of the running impact. So, these being said, a run on this treadmill is much more forgiving on your joints, than a run on concrete. Due to this fact, you will have to deal with less workout-related joint pain and may run an extra mile or two.
The machine’s running surface consists of a 2-ply, heavy-duty, no-stretch belt, 56″ (142 cm) long, 20″ (51 cm) wide. This means the treadmill can accommodate users up to 6’3″ – 6’4″ with no problem. Taller users, however, may consider the running surface a bit too short, but nonetheless, as long as they weigh less than 300 lbs, they should be able to use the machine. The belt is set into motion by two large rollers equipped with heavy-duty stainless steel ball bearings. The front roller is 2.5″ in diameter, while the rear roller is 2″; they’re fairly thick compared to the rollers in other similar machines, and this particular aspect results in less vibration for the belt, also prolonging the belt’s lifespan.
All the steel parts within the frame construction are double coated with a rust-resistant and abrasion-resistant paint finish. The colors used are black for the base, and gray for the console masts.
Incline & step-up height
The LifeSpan TR2000i treadmill is equipped with a motorized incline system. It provides a ramp up to 15%, which is approx. 11 degrees. The increments for the incline adjustment are 1%, 15 in number. 
The incline is adjustable in increments of 1%, having 15 adjustment settings in total. The control unit has keys for gradual incline adjustment, but also has quick keys for the 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 incline settings. In case you’re wondering, the side handlebars of the machine do not have incline or speed controls such as the Nautilus T618, for example.
The incline system is powerful enough to lift weights up to 800 lbs (363 kg). Thus, it should perform perfectly with just about any user.
With the incline set at 0% deck’s step-up height is 8″ (20.3 cm). The full incline, will add a few inches at the front of the deck. This being said, to avoid any ceiling height issues, it’s best to place the machine for use, in a room with a ceiling that’s at least 15″-20″ (38 – 51 cm) than your height.
Motor
The LifeSpan TR2000e It’s equipped with a motor similar to the TR1200i. It’s a 2.5 CHP motor, powerful enough to sustain prolonged running sessions, even at full speed, without 
overheating or losing performance. It delivers speeds up to 11 MPH, its starting point being 0.5 MPH.
Just as for incline, the console provides keys for gradual and quick speed adjustment. The gradual keys will adjust speed in 0.1 increments, therefore you should easily find the perfect pace for your workout. The quick keys allow you to select the 2,4,6,8,10 (MPH) speed settings. These are great for interval training.
The motor itself is quiet compared to other models. Also, the cushioning system built-in the deck absorbs some of the noise generated by your cadence. These being said, the TR2000e offers a fairly quiet operation.
Since the treadmill is motorized, it requires being connected to a power circuit. It comes with power cord with a plug for 115 NEMA 5-15 power outlets.
Console
The TR2000e LifeSpan treadmill is equipped with a Bluetooth capable console. However, the Bluetooth module is not included with the machine; it’s an optional purchase. Via Bluetooth, you can sync the console with your laptop, smartphone, or tablet, in order to instantly transfer 
your workout data into your LifeSpan Club account, via the LifeSpan Active Track or Train & Track apps.
If you don’t opt for the Bluetooth module, you can still transfer your workout data into your club account to keep track of your progress, via USB connection. The console features a USB port, which also works as a charging port for most smartphones or tablets.
The machine’s console features a 6″ LCD display with blue LED backlight. It has pretty large digits, being easy to read. It shows speed, incline, calories burned, steps, distance, time, and heart rate. For speed and distance, there is the possibility to select both imperial (MPH, miles) and metric (km/h, km) units. Also, the console is telemetric; it integrates an HR receiver and works with HR chest strap transmitter. An HR chest strap transmitter is not included, though. But you can still benefit from a pulse readout by using the pulse sensors integrated into the front handlebars.
Just as the LifeSpan TR3000e model, the console of the TR2000e offers 21 workout programs. There are 17 pre-set programs (5 weight management, 5 healthy living, 7 sports trainint, 2 heart rate programs, and 2 custom programs. The 2 custom programs give you the possibility to create your own, pre-defined program, save it, and re-use it. Also, when pre-setting a user profile, the console will prompt you to input your weight in order to calculate the calorie burn more accurately.
One of the features specific to the LifeSpan treadmills is the Intelli-Guard™ feature. This feature is triggered when the treadmill senses you are no longer walking or running. It automatically pauses the belt to avoid accidents. Of course, the console also has the magnetic key feature like most other treadmills.
As extra features, the console of the TR2000e electric treadmill offers a sound system, a tablet tray, and two bottle/accessory trays. The sound system consists of two speakers, one on each side of the display. It’s compatible with most smartphones, tablets, and MP3 players. There are no volume controls on the console, so you will have to control the volume from your device. Also, an audio cable is not included.
The tablet holder is long enough to accommodate any tablet. And finally, the bottle/accessory trays are placed one on each side of the dashboard. They’re large enough in diameter to hold most water bottle types or other small accessories, such as earplugs, keys, remote control, etc.
Assembly and Maintenance
Most of the treadmill comes pre-assembled. All you have to do is unbox it, unfold it and lock the console masts in upright position, then add the console, connect the wires, and finally add some of the non-attached joint covers. This shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.
For most treadmills, one of the primary maintenance aspects is the belt lubrication; the TR2000e doesn’t make an exception. Its belt comes pre-lubricated but requires lubrication every 3 months, or every 50 hours of use (whichever comes first). The console will prompt you to lubricate the belt after 100 hours of use. For this, silicone lubricant is recommended. Other than this, you should keep the belt clean all the time, vacuum under the deck, and keep liquids away from the console.
