The Marnur water resistance rower is one of the fitness machines released in 2020. In terms of features and price, it can be compared with the SNODE WR100 or the HouseFit DH-8633. However, this particular rower features a dual rail system that offers improved seat stability and overall sturdiness.

Frame construction
The Marnur water resistance rower features a frame made mostly of oval steel tubing. However, the 
two rail tubes feature aluminum covers on top for extra protection against paint chipping and corrosion. All the steel parts are double-coated with a rust-resistant paint finish. The color used is black, this being the only color available for this rower model.
The fully assembled machine is fairly large. It is approx. 82″ (208 cm) long, and 20.5″ (52 cm) wide. Plus, you will have to allow at least 1-2 feet of clearance at the rear of the machine and on its sides for easy access and correct usage.
Unlike the Marnur air resistance rower, the water rower model does not have a folding frame. However, it can be stored vertically to save space. In its vertical storage positions, its footprint becomes 31.5″L x 20.5″W (80 x 52 cm), while its height will reach approx. 82″ (208 cm). Also, in case you’re wondering, the water can remain inside the tank when the machine is stored vertically.
The rower is fairly heavy. It weighs over 80 lbs (36 kg) without water in the tank. However, once it is assembled, it can easily be moved as its front stabilizer features a set of wheels. Also, its rear stabilizer is equipped with two adjustable levelers.
One last aspect to mention here regards the rower’s rail system. As we’ve mentioned above, since it’s a dual rail, it provides extra sturdiness and superior stability for the seat. The rail system is horizontal. Therefore, the machine provides a neutral rowing motion. Also, the height of the seat remains constant throughout the rowing motion, at approx. 15″ (38 cm) above floor level.
Seat and other parts
The Marnur water resistance rower is equipped with a fairly large seat. Its top pad is approx. 14″ (36 cm)
wide, and 11″ (28 cm) deep, so it provides plenty of contact surface. It is made of high-density foam for optimal comfort. Also, its surface is textured and contoured for improved contact.
The base frame of the seat is made of steel. It integrates six wheels; four of them slide on top of the aluminum tracks, while the other two underneath them for improved stability. The wheels integrate sealed bearings for a smooth motion and have a layer of silicone rubber coating on the outside for reduced noise.
The seat and the rail system are rated for a maximum user weight limit of 300 lbs (136 kg). The rail system offers a movement span for the seat of approx. 36″ (91 cm). However, the footrests are placed a few inches further from the front bumpers of the seat. Thus, the applicable inseam length for this machine is 40″ (101 cm).
This Marnur rowing machine is equipped with a set of large footrests. They are size-adjustable so they can accommodate athletic footwear of all sizes. Their base is made of steel while the adjustable sections are made of a durable polymer (probably polypropylene). These elements have heel guards for improved foot stability. Also, the footrests are equipped with adjustable straps.
The machine’s footrests are fixed into position; they do not have a pivoting design as is the case for other rowers. They are set at an angle of approx. 45°, providing an optimal foot positioning.
The pulling handle is a simple, straight bar. It has rubber-foam sleeves for an improved grip. It’s attached to the machine’s resistance system via a heavy-duty, braided nylon strap, highly-resistant to stretching and abrasion.
Resistance system
Like any other water resistance rower, this Marnur model is equipped with a large water tank make 
of polycarbonate material. Its capacity is 4.7 gal (18 l). It integrates a large, multi-blade impeller which is the main resistance-generating element. As you pull the handle, the impeller spins in the water inside the tank creating resistance.
The rower’s tank does not have any mechanical or automatic water level adjustment system. However, you can still adjust the overall resistance by manually removing or adding water. There are, though, 6 water levels marked on the tank, and the 6th level should not be exceeded. Evidently, if the tank is filled up to the 6th marking, you will get the highest resistance possible.
Just like any other water resistance rower, the machine delivers a dynamic response. This means that the resistance generated by the impeller depends on your stroke rate. For example, if you row at a faster rate, the impeller will also spin faster inside the tank and generates a higher resistance. This can be quite a plus especially for professional rowing athletes as the machine provides a rowing sensation that is closer to rowing a real boat through water, than the feel provided by a magnetic rower.
The rower is not noisy. The noise level generated by the spinning of the impeller inside the tank is pretty low, and the sound is far from being annoying.
Performance monitor
The Marnur water resistance rower is equipped with a rather basic fitness monitor compared to the
units included with the WaterRower models or the Concept2 models. It does not have pre-set workout programs, built-in games, or online connectivity. It features an LCD display divided into several windows in order to show multiple workout metrics at once. It tracks time, strokes, strokes per minute, distance, and calories burned. It does not have a pulse reading function. Although the right bottom window of the monitor is reserved to pulse, the unit does not have a pulse reading function and the rower does not integrate any pulse sensors.
Goal settings are available with this rower monitor unit. In other words, you can select a goal for distance, strokes, or time, for example. Once a goal is selected, the unit will count down from the selected value until it reaches zero, notifying you that you have completed your goal.
The unit is fairly easy to use. It has four buttons. These are Reset, Up, Down, and Mode. The Mode button covers the selection and navigation functions. The Up / Down buttons are for increasing or decreasing values when you set up workout goals. And finally, the Reset button clears all the values on the unit to zero.
The unit is battery-powered. It requires two AA batteries which are included. It starts counting distance, calories, SPM, etc. when you begin rowing, and also automatically turns off after a few minutes of inactivity on the machine. And finally, its mount features a long arm that allows it two easily swivel and adjust to the right angle so you can see your workout metrics properly.
Assembly and Maintenance
The water tank with its drive and resistance elements comes pre-assembled and attached to the front part of the frame. You only need to add the front stabilizer, insert the seat onto the rail system, connect the rail system, and add the rear stabilizer. This shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. All the necessary tools are included and the manual provides fairly clear assembly instructions.
For maintenance, it is recommended to keep the rower clean, especially the rail system to prevent any damage to the seat wheels. The water inside the tank requires chlorine treatment to prevent the formation of algae and other microorganisms. A pack of chlorine pills is included.
