The NordicTrack T 7.5 S treadmill has the same deck dimensions, weight capacity, and offers the same range of workout programs as the T 8.5 S model that we’ve already covered here. However, its console has a smaller display, and the machine is equipped with only a 3.0 CHP motor (not a 3.5 CHP). It’s nonetheless, a pretty inclusive and sturdy machine, great for a wide array of cardio workouts.

Frame and deck

The NordicTrack T 7.5 S treadmill features a steel frame and a durable deck rated for a user weight capacity of 300 lbs (136 kg). However, the machine also incorporates several ABS parts in its construction. For example, the motors cover, the side rail covers, and the console dashboard are ABS made.

The fully assembled machine is fairly large. It is approx. 78.5″ (200 cm) long, and 35.5″ (90 cm) wide, while the top of the console reaches approx. 59″ (150 cm) above floor level. It is also recommended to leave at least two feet of clearance on each side of the deck, and at least three feet of clearance at its rear for safe usage. Therefore, the recommended usage area for it is approx. 120″ x 80″ (305 x 203 cm).

On the other hand, this NordicTrack treadmill features a folding design. The deck can fold up in order to provide better storage possibilities. The folding mechanism involves a hydraulic cylinder which slowly lowers the deck when you unfold it to prevent damage.

This treadmill is also very heavy. Although its exact net weight is not specified, it weighs over 220 lbs (100 kg). All this weight provides extra stability for the machine.

Despite its weight, the T 7.5 S treadmill is not too difficult to move, once it is assembled. Its front metallic base is equipped with transport wheels.

The NordicTrack T 7.5 S offers a standard running surface of 60″L x 20″W (152.4 x 51 cm). This being said, the machine should accommodate users up to 6’5″ (196 cm) with no problem, promoting a complete range of motion. It uses a multi-ply belt with an external rubber layer for a superior grip during running. Also, the internal rollers have a crowned design in order to provide better traction and increase the lifespan of the belt.

One last aspect to mention here regards the deck’s cushioning system. Similar to the other NordicTrack T treadmill models, the T 7.5 S is equipped with the FlexSelect cushioning system. The deck has six cushioning cells, three on each side, which can absorb up to 40% of the shock of each foot strike during running. Plus, each cushion is adjustable; you can increase or decrease its flexibility by a simple rotation.

Incline and step-up height

The NordicTrack T 7.5 S treadmill is equipped with an automatic incline system. This means you can adjust the incline as you walk or run on the treadmill. Also, some of the preset programs on the console can automatically adjust the incline.

The machine’s incline mechanism consists of a small lift system and a separate motor from the drive motor, placed at the front of the deck. As the incline is adjusted from the console, the lift raises or lowers the front section of the deck.

There are 12 levels of incline available. The incline increments are 1%, so the incline range is basically 0% – 12%. The console features controls for both quick incline selection (from 0 to 12) and gradual incline adjustment.

The deck step-up height is approx. 10″ (25 cm). Plus, with the incline set all the way to 12%, its front section becomes elevated by a few extra inches. Therefore, it is recommended to use this machine in a room with a ceiling height that exceeds your own height by at least 20″ (51 cm).

Drive motor

The NordicTrack T 7.5 S is equipped with a Drux Commercial Plus motor. It’s a 3.5 CHP motor designed to withstand lengthy workouts without overheating or losing performance. It’s equipped with a small flywheel for extra motion stability and vibration reduction. It also has its own, built-in cooling system.

The unit’s motor makes available a speed range between is 0.5 – 12 MPH. The incline increments are 0.1 MPH. Therefore, you can easily adjust your pace when you change the speed settings.

Just as for the incline, the console features both gradual speed adjustment keys and quick speed selection keys. They’re on the right side of the console; the quick adjustment controls cover all the main speed settings from 1 MPH to 12 MPH.

The motor produces a fairly low level of noise. However, even with all the cushioning of the deck, your cadence will still be heard when running at full speed. Therefore, in an apartment building or household with thin walls, the other persons will definitely hear you.

Evidently, since it’s a motorized treadmill, it requires an external power source. A standard US plug (for 120V) is included with the machine. The connector for its cable is placed at the front of the deck, next to the power button.

Console

Although the machine’s console is similar to the one on the NordicTrack T 9.5 S, its display is only 7.5″ in diagonal. It’s an LCD-type display with touchscreen technology and LED backlight. This being said, it can be used just as any other tablet or multi-function display.

The console tracks all the important workout metrics, including time, distance, calories, pulse, speed, and incline. The speed and distance metrics are set by default to imperial units (MPH and miles), but there is also the option of metric units (km/h, km).

With regard to the pulse reading function, the machine has two sensors integrated into its front grips. However, the console is telemetric as well. This means it can communicate with a wireless HR chest strap. This accessory is optional (not included).

The console has built-in wireless connectivity and is iFit enabled. Therefore, you can connect it to your WiFi in order to access the iFit workout database or run on a virtual trail based on GoogleMaps. One year of iFit membership is included with the treadmill.

But even if you’re not going to use the iFit workouts and interactive interface, the console has its own database of workout programs. It offers 50 preset programs that cover all types of workouts, from interval and HRC oriented programs, to weight loss and muscle toning programs.

Among other notable console features, are the integrated sound system and the cooling fan. The sound system consists of two large speakers placed one on each side of the console. It is compatible with most MP3 players or smartphones and offers Bluetooth connectivity. The AutoBreeze™ workout fan is placed at the bottom of the console unit, right above the main keypad. It offers several speed settings and provides fairly decent performance, enough to keep you cool during a more intense workout.

Assembly and Maintenance

The treadmill’s deck with the belt, motors, shock absorption system, and all the other parts, comes pre-assembled. All you have to do is attach the two upright bars and the console. This may take 30-40 minutes, but it’s not a complicated task. The manual provides step-by-step instructions for it and a set of basic tools is included.

In terms of maintenance, the unit’s deck requires periodic lubrication. However, it comes pre-lubricated from the factory and doesn’t need lubrication before the first use, and for a fairly long while. It’s also recommended to keep the running belt clean to prevent any debris or textile fibers to be caught into the motor.
