Frame and parts

The IRONMAN Triathlon X-Class Capacity Power Cage features a frame made of 2″ x 3″ tubular steel, coated with corrosion resistant and scratch resistant paint, black for the base and upright bars, and silver for the top and safety bars. The assembled set is quite heavy, ironman fitness triathlon x-class power cage weighing 301 lbs (136.5 kg), without any load on the lat station’s slider. This being said, the frame doesn’t need to be bolted to the floor. It’s extremely stable on its own, it won’t wobble or move during workouts. However, if you do want to anchor it, the bases do have holes already drilled into them for this purpose. Also, the bases have rubberized pads at their ends to protect flooring and enhance stability.

This gym set is rather large. It has an 86.5″L x 52″W (220 x 132 cm) footprint and does require at least 2-3 feet of clearance on each side and at the front (especially if you use a bench), in order to allow the safe execution of various exercises. Its height is also and important factor to consider. The assembled frame reaches 86″ in height (218 cm), therefore it won’t fit in a room with a 7′ ceiling.

The vertical bars feature 25 adjustment holes for the safety bars and catchers. A set of catcher bars and a set of safety bars is supplied with the machine. Each set is rated for 1,500 lbs (680 lbs) weight capacity. Both types of bars feature a layer of rubber material on top, in order to prevent scratching, denting, and the loud banging of the barbell. The safety bars also feature 13 adjustment holes for the dip handles, which means you can easily find the most comfortable positioning for these handles, regardless of your size. Theironman triathlon lat attachment load safety bars are compatible with 7′ Olympic bars.

The lat attachment is equipped with a set of 7 pulleys, all made of heavy-duty nylon material, integrating stainless steel, sealed ball bearings for smooth operation and a long lifespan. The cables are high tensile strength steel ropes, tested for 2,200 lbs (998 kg). They’re also nylon coated for a smoother motion over the pulleys.

The lower part of the lat attachment integrates two foam rollers, approx. 3″ (8 cm) thick, which can be used as foot anchors for abdominal exercises.

Last but not least, the frame includes a set of chin-up bars and a pull-up bar with oblique grips for wide grip pull-up exercises. Both the chin-up bar set and the pull-up bar are rated for 600 lbs (272 kg). Thus, you can definitely perform weighted pull-ups or chin-ups without any issues.

Accessories

This IRONMAN power cage set basically comes with the accessories required for most exercises. To begin with, the lat pull-down station includes the lat bar. Also, for the low pulley station, there is a short bar included. Both these bars feature rubber foam grips, to provide the adequate comfort. An ankle strap for low pulley exercises and an ab crunch harness are not included, though.

A set of two dip handles is also included. These can quickly be installed or removed from the safety bars if necessary, without the hassle of screws and bolts.

The gliding element of the lat machine features 1″ Standard pegs. However, a set of Olympic adapters is included with this gym system. Weight plates or an Olympic bar are not included, though.

Workout stations

This IRONMAN Fitness strength cage basically includes 5 distinctive workout stations. These are:

The power cage itself – with the safety bars and catchers, offering the possibility to execute squats or chest presses (in case you also have a bench).

Dip station – consisting in two quickly adjustable dip handles, rated for 600 lbs (272 kg). The dip handles can be mounted on each one of the safety bars, inside or outside the cage. They’re 20″ long, and feature rubber grips.

This lat station is rated for loads up to 400 lbs (163 kg). The plates are secured on the pegs via spring collars which are also included. Weight plates, however, are not included with this set.
