The Soozier A90-255 is one of the indoor cycling bikes released in 2021. It’s slightly superior to the Soozier A90-144 that we’ve already covered here, as it comes with a heavier flywheel and has a higher user weight capacity. However, it does not include any accessories, like a bottle holder, or device holder. The only notable accessory is the fitness monitor.

Frame construction
The Soozier A90-255 features a frame made of steel tubing. It combines oval, cylindrical, and rectangular tubes in its construction. The main frame and the seat post are coated with a black paint finish, while the flywheel and the handlebar post are chrome-plated. There also are several plastic parts in the bike’s construction. The most notable ones are the belt guard and the side covers of the flywheel.
The bike’s frame has a triangular design for improved sturdiness, with a slightly curved front fork. It also has a horizontal reinforcement bar that connects the seat tube with the main slanted tube. This can also act as a step-up bar or a support bar for stretches and other exercises required by various spin workouts.
Like most other spin bikes, this Soozier cycle is not a large fitness machine. Its net footprint is 43.75″L x 20.5″ (111 x 52 cm), so it should fit pretty well even into a smaller room. However, it still is recommended to allow at least two feet of clearance all around it, especially if you want to perform spin workouts that require repeated mounting and dismounting.
The bike is not super heavy either. However, it can easily be moved by only one person once it is assembled. Its front base bar is equipped with a set of wheels. Also, both base bars have adjustable levelers.
Seat and handlebars
The Soozier A90-255 indoor cycling bike comes with a saddle similar to the one included with the SportsArt C510 bike. It’s not a super comfortable model, but does integrate a layer of cushioning. It also has a large groove in the middle for extra breathability.
It’s also important to mention here that the bike’s saddle has a standard (collar) attachment system. Therefore, if you will ever want to replace it, compatible options are available in most bike shops. It is also very easy to remove.
The bike’s seat assembly offers four-way adjustability (up, down, front, back). Its upright post has 6 adjustment positions, with adjustment increments of approx. 1″ (2.5 cm). Its adjustment range is 30.25″ – 36.25″ (76.8 – 92 cm) when the horizontal slider also adds a few inches of front-to-back adjustment. Thus, the bike should be able to accommodate users between 5’0″ and 6’3″ (153 – 190 cm) with no problem. It is also rated for a maximum user weight limit of 330 lbs (150 kg).
The handlebar is only two-way adjustable. Its post has 4 adjustment holes, with the same 1″ (2.5 cm) increments. Its highest point is 40.5″ (103 cm). It features a multi-grip design, with a small loop bar in the middle for a close grip. It also integrates pulse sensors.
Drive system
The Soozier A90-255 exercise bike is equipped with a 22 lbs (10 kg) flywheel. Although it’s not as heavy as the flywheel of a commercial spin bike (which can go up to 50 lbs), it still has a perimeter-weighted design. This type of construction improves inertia and adds consistency to the ride.
The flywheel is bi-directional. This means you can pedal in reverse if you want to. However, coasting is not possible on this bike as the pedals keep spinning for as long as the flywheel is spinning. Also, when pedaling in reverse, the resistance remains constant, given the amount of friction the brake pad applies to the flywheels.
The bike is equipped with a heavy-duty crankset and a solid set of pedals. It should be able to support pedaling while standing up with no problem. The pedals are equipped with adjustable toe cages. They do not have SPD clips for spin shoes. However, they do have standard 9/16 threads, so you should be able to find a wide range of compatible replacements if you will ever want to change them.
The bike’s drive system uses a poly-v belt. This belt drive comes with a few advantages over a chain drive. For example, it eliminates the need for periodic lubrication. Also, it generates less vibration than a chain.
Resistance system
The Soozier A90-255 indoor cycle is equipped with a standard friction resistance system. This means that you don’t have to connect it to a power source in order to adjust the resistance. But on the other hand, the included console cannot control the resistance automatically either.
The resistance system features a simple felt pad attached to the main tube of the frame. The bad connects to the tension knob above the same tube. Thus, when you turn the knob, you can control how much friction the pad applies on the flywheel.
The bike’s resistance system does not have pre-set tension levels. You simply turn the knob right or left until you find a tension that suits you best. As a general idea, you can tighten the pad on the flywheel up to the point the pedaling motion simulates a steep hill climb.
It’s important to mention, though, that the felt brake pad will eventually wear out and you will need to replace it. Also, for a smoother flywheel rotation, it is recommended to lubricate the brake pad with a few drops of silicone lubricant.
Fitness monitor
The Soozier A90-255 comes with a basic fitness monitor. It features an LCD display that tracks time, speed, distance, calories, and pulse. It also has an odometer function (remembers total distance traveled). The pulse reading function is grip contact only. The monitor cannot read your pulse from a wireless HR chest strap. It can only read your pulse if you hold on to the integrated sensors.
Since it’s a basic unit, the monitor does not have online connectivity, nor is compatible with any fitness apps. It only has one button. By pressing the button repeatedly, you can select the workout metric that you want to view. It has a Scan Mode; in Scan Mode, it automatically rotates all the metrics showing each one for a few seconds. You can also reset all the data on it (except the odometer) by pressing and holding the button down for a few seconds.
The monitor unit is battery-powered. It automatically turns off if it does not detect any activity on the bike for more than a four minutes. To wake it up, you can simply start pedaling or press the button.
Assembly and Maintenance
The main elements of the bike’s drive and resistance systems come already assembled. To be more specific, the flywheel, the crankset, the belt, and the brake pad are already attached. Therefore, all you have to do is attach the base stabilizers, the pedals, the seat, the handlebars, and the console. The manual provides pretty clear assembly instructions with illustrations, and all the required tools are included.
For maintenance, it’s recommended to lubricate the brake pad for a smooth pedaling motion. Other than this, you only have to wipe off the perspiration from the frame at the end of your training sessions, and periodically check the unit for loose bolts and parts.
