The RHYTHM FUN Mini-Change is one of the treadmills released in 2019. It’s a 2-in-1 treadmill, which means it can be used either like a regular treadmill, or under a desk. Although it’s overall smaller than the RHYTHM FUN Mini-Pro model that we’ve already covered here, its running surface is just as long and only two inches narrower. For reference, this is the RHYTHM FUN fitness machine part number RF-MC01.

Frame construction
The RHYTHM FUN Mini-Change treadmill features a pretty sturdy construction combining steel and aluminum
elements. For example, the frame section that supports the console is steel-made, the base frame is also made of steel, while the support upright bars, and the side rails that allow the folding of the upright bars are made of aluminum alloy. All the steel parts are painted black, featuring a durable double-coating finish.
Of course, the machine also integrates several plastic parts. For example, the top cover of the side rails, the motor cover, and several other small covers are made from a tough thermoplastic material, also black in color.
The machine is not too large. It is approx. 61″ (155 cm) long, and 30″ (76 cm) wide. With the handrail assembly unfolded, its height is 44″ (111 cm). Conversely, with the handrail folded, its height is only 8″ (20 cm) so it can be used at a desk or stored under a sofa.
This RHYTHM FUN treadmill can also be stored vertically. Its front section has a set of small wheels for easy transport as well as two small bumpers. Therefore, the unit can stand up on its own; you don’t have to lean it against a wall.
The treadmill is not extremely heavy, but does weigh approx. 97 lbs (44 kg). Therefore, the transport of the packaged machine may require two people. However, once it is unboxed, it can easily be moved by only one person via its front transport wheels.
Deck construction
The RHYTHM FUN Mini-Change treadmill features a fairly sturdy deck. It is rated for a maximum user weight
limit of 220 lbs (100 kg). It integrates several shock absorption elements and the deck board itself also has a bit of flex. Therefore, a run or walk on this treadmill results in less impact on your joints.
The machine running surface is approx. 50″ (126 cm) long, and 18″ (45 cm) wide. This being said, it may not be the best choice for users taller than 6’2″ (188 cm), when it comes to running. However, for walking, its active area should suffice for a wider range of users.
The unit’s belt is multi-layered. It actually integrates seven layers. The top layer is rubberized and textured to provide a superior grip. The inner layers are meant to reduce shock and noise, as well as improve the overall structural sturdiness of the belt. The bottom layer closes the belt and provides a better contact with the rollers.
This RHYTHM FUN treadmill does not have an incline system. You cannot adjust the angle of the running surface in any way, and improvisations to achieve this are not recommended. Its active area is perfectly horizontal so it provides a neutral stride.
When folded flat on the floor, the highest point of the treadmill is approx. 8″ (20 cm). However, the step-up height of the deck is about two inches lower. Therefore, ceiling height shouldn’t be an issue. It’s best to make sure that the ceiling in the room where you will be using the treadmill is at least 10″ (25 cm) higher than your own height.
Drive motor and speed range
The RHYTHM FUN RF-MC01 is an electric treadmill. Therefore, it requires an external power source. It comes
with a power cord featuring a U.S. type power plug. The cable port is at the front of the deck and next to it there is a power switch.
The machine is equipped with a 2.0 HP motor. It is not a super powerful motor but does offer speeds up to 7.5 MPH. It’s important to mention, though, that the machine indicates the speed in kilometers per hour. There is no option for setting the speed or distance to British Imperial units (MPH or miles).
The starting speed of the belt is 1.0 km/h (0.6 MPH) and the maximum speed is 12 km/h (7.5 MPH). The speed adjustment increments are 0.1 km/h which is quite a plus as you can easily adjust your pace when you increase or decrease speed.
As we’ve mentioned above, this is a 2-in-1 treadmill, as it can be used folded flat and under a desk, or with the handrail unfolded, like a regular treadmill. It is important to mention that when it is used folded, it’s meant only for walking speed. Therefore, you cannot adjust the speed past 6 km/h (3.7 MPH). If used with the handrail unfolded, speed can go up to 12 km/h (7.5 MPH).
Last but not least, the machine’s speed can be adjusted in three ways. First of all, you can adjust the speed from the knob around the console display. Second of all, the machine includes a remote control with speed adjustment controls. And third of all, you can also adjust the speed from your phone if you sync it with the treadmill via the YPOO app.
Console
The RHYTHM FUN Mini-Change treadmill includes a pretty neat and easy-to-use console. It features an LED
display that tracks time, distance, speed, and calories burned. As you start the machine up, there is a countdown before the belt starts to move. The display will show the four metrics in a sequence; each metric will appear on the display for a few seconds. When you adjust the speed, the display will indicate speed.
The console does not have pre-set workout programs. It also does not have a pulse reading function. Therefore, it won’t be able to read your pulse if you wear a Bluetooth chest strap. However, you can sync it with your phone via the free YPOO app which not only allows you to adjust the speed of the machine from your phone, it also shows step count, as well as total calories burned and total distance traveled.
The console is very easy to use. It features a large knob all around the display which allows you to easily adjust the speed. As we’ve mentioned above, you can also adjust the speed from the included remote control which has start and stop buttons as well.
The machine also integrates a set of Bluetooth speakers. Thus, you can play music from your phone, tablet, or other Bluetooth devices through the machine’s speakers for a slightly better sound quality and volume.
Assembly and Maintenance
The treadmill comes pre-assembled and folded. You only need to remove it from the box, unfold it, plug the cable in, and start it up.
For maintenance, it is recommended to keep the machine clean, especially the belt, to prevent any dirt or textile fibers from being caught in the motor. The belt requires periodic lubrication. Lubricant for it is not included, but any type of silicone treadmill lubricant should do. It also does not need lubrication before the first use.
