The RHYTHM FUN Air01 is one of the fitness machines released in 2019. It’s a small, slim, and folding treadmill that can be used at a desk. It doesn’t have a super console with workout programs, but does show the most important workout metrics and also has Bluetooth connectivity.

Frame construction
The RHYTHM FUN Air01 treadmill combines steel, aluminum, and ABS plastic parts in its construction. The base
frame is made of extruded aluminum, the two upright bars and several other smaller parts are steel made, while the front casing that covers the motor and other smaller covers are made of ABS material.
The treadmill is fairly small. Its footprint is only 56″L x 27″W (142 x 69 cm) so it should fit pretty well even in a small room or apartment. It is recommended, though, to allow at least a few feet of clearance at the rear of the deck, and at least two feet of clearance on each side of it, for easy access and safe usage. Also, the highest point of the machine, with the handlebar in an upright position, is approx. 49″ (124 cm).
The treadmill is foldable. It can be folded flat with the handlebar assembly all the way down over the deck. If folded this way, its height is only approx. 5″ (13 cm). Thus, you should be able to store it under a bed or under a couch if there is at least that much clearance. The unit can also be stored vertically, against a wall.
This RHYTHM FUN treadmill is not too heavy. Its net weight is only 66 lbs (30 kg). Thus, it can be carried and assembled by only one person, although, it is recommended to be transported by two persons while it is still packaged. Once it is unfolded and ready to use, it can easily be moved by only one person as its front base has transport wheels.
Deck construction
The RHYTHM FUN Air01 treadmill has a fairly small deck. It offers a walking area of 47.2″L x 16.5″W (120 x 42 cm) so
it may not be the best choice for runners over 6’2″ (188 cm), as they may not benefit from a complete range of motion when running at full speed. However, for walking, it should suffice even for taller users.
The machine does not have an incline system. However, it is important to mention that its walking platform is not perfectly horizontal. It is slightly inclined, a bit higher at the front than at the rear. The height of the active area is only approx. 3″ (7 cm) above the floor, so you should be able to use it even in a room with a pretty low ceiling.
Similar to the RHYTHM FUN Air02 (the newer model) that we’ve already covered here, the Air01 treadmill integrates several shock absorption elements. First of all, it has two “silkworm” type rubber stabilizers at the rear, as well as two similar but smaller ones at the center of the deck. There are also several other smaller shock absorption elements concealed by the belt. On top of that, the deck board itself has a bit of flex and adds extra shock absorption.
The machine is equipped with a 7-layer tread belt. The top layer is rubberized and has a diamond texture in order to provide a better grip for your running shoes. The inner layers add shock absorption and improve the overall structural sturdiness of the belt. And finally, the lowest layer is the compression layer and it’s designed to stick better to the machine’s rollers.
Last but not least, the thickness of the unit’s rollers is not specified. However, since it’s a small treadmill, they are not very thick. They have a crowned design, though, for improved belt traction. They also have internal sealed bearings for a smooth belt motion.
Drive motor
The RHYTHM FUN Air01 is an electric treadmill. This being said, it needs to be connected to a power source in
order to power up its console and set the belt in motion. A power cable is included with it. The connector for the cable is on the right side of the deck, close to the front.
The machine is equipped with a 1.5 HP drive motor. Although its motor is not a super powerful one, it provides a pretty decent performance even if the machine is in use for several hours. It also has a small flywheel for reduced vibration and improved motion stability.
The unit’s motor provides a speed range between 0.8 km/h and 8.8 km/h (0.5 – 5.5 MPH). It has a walking mode and a running mode. If the handrail is folded down, it can only be used in its walking mode, with a speed range between 0.8 – 6.0 km/h (0.5 – 3.7 MPH), while with the handrail unfolded, it can be used for its full speed, including the highest levels between 6.0 and 8.8 km/h (3.7 – 5.5 MPH).
The unit’s speed adjustment increments are 0.1 km/h which is great because you can easily adjust your pace. It’s also important to mention that the machine does not have a conventional console like other treadmills. It is remote-controlled. The remote is pretty simple and easy to use. It has buttons for gradual speed adjustment and for power On/Off. The machine does not offer the possibility to pre-set speed and does not have pre-set speed controls.
The motor itself is not very loud. However, depending on your weight, running technique, running shoes, and other factors, your cadence may generate more or less noise. Thus, other people can still hear you. But if you walk at a normal pace, the unit is pretty quiet and can actually be used in an office. Plus, since the motor is not too powerful, the machine shouldn’t add more than a few dollars to your monthly electricity bill even if it’s used daily.
Console
As we’ve mentioned above, the RHYTHM FUN Air01 treadmill doesn’t have a “conventional” console with workout 
programs or multiple buttons like other treadmills. It is remote-controlled. The console display is incorporated into the front base casing of the machine, above the motor.
The console features an LED display with four windows. It tracks time, speed, distance, and calories burned. Speed and distance are shown in metric units (km/h and kilometers), and there is no option for setting them to British imperial units. The machine doesn’t have a pulse reading function and also doesn’t have a step count function.
Although it does not have pre-set programs, this RHYTHM FUN treadmill does have Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the YPOO app. This app is not exactly the best, but it’s free and offers several extra features on top of the console features. For example, it allows you to track your progress online, control the treadmill’s speed from your phone, set goals for your workouts, and more.
The app is available for both iOS and Android devices. However, it is not necessary for the functioning of the treadmill. You don’t really need to download it and install it in order to use the machine.
Assembly and Maintenance
This RHYTHM FUN treadmill comes pre-assembled. You only need to remove it from the box, unfold it, and plug it in. The manual provides pretty clear instructions for it. Also, a set of tools for securing some of the parts and for adjusting the belt (if needed) are included.
For maintenance, the belt requires periodic lubrication. Two bottles of silicone lubricant are included and the running platform has a special slot where you need to apply the lubricant so you don’t have to loosen the belt and lift it. It is also recommended to keep the treadmill clean, especially the belt.
