Frame construction
Like most other treadmills in this price and feature range, the ADVENOR YD100003AAA is built on a steel frame combining rectangular and oval tubes in its construction. The steel parts are coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish, black in color, this being the only color available for this treadmill (at least for the moment).
Of course, the machine also integrates several parts made of durable thermoplastic material. The most notable ones are the motor cover, the side rail covers, and several other covers. The console dashboard is also plastic-made.
The fully assembled treadmill is fairly large for a home-use machine. Its net footprint is 63.7″L x 27.1″W (162 x 69 cm), while its highest point standard at approx. 51.9″ (132 cm) above the floor. This being said, the recommended usage area for this machine is around 100″L x 75″W (254 x 190 cm).
This ADVENOR treadmill is foldable. Its deck can be folded up so you can save some space when the machine is not in use, or to clean underneath it with ease. The folding mechanism involves a hydraulic cylinder that slowly lowers the deck when unfolded. Also, in case you’re wondering, the unit’s folded dimensions are 34.25″L x 27.1″W x 54.72″H (87 x 69 x 140 cm).
One last aspect to mention here regards the unit’s weight. This ADVENOR treadmill is not as heavy as other similar models but does weigh approx. 103 lbs (47 kg), so its transport requires two people. However, once it is assembled, it can be easily moved by only one person as its front base frame integrates a set of wheels.
Deck construction and incline
The ADVENOR YD100003AAA treadmill offers a running surface of 47.3″L x 17″W (120L x 43W cm). This being said, it should accommodate comfortably users up to 6’2″ (188 cm). Taller persons should still be able to use this machine but they may not benefit from a complete stride.
The belt is multi-layered with its top layer designed for improved contact. The exact diameter of the internal rollers is not specified. However, it is certain that they are crowned; this design improves traction, prevents belt slipping, and prolongs the lifespan of the tread belt.
The machine’s deck is not super tough as is the case for other models. It is rated for a maximum user weight limit of only 220 lbs (100 kg). It integrates 8 cushioning elements (4 on each side) so it absorbs an important part of the shock generated by each foot strike. The deckboard itself also has a bit of flex. Thus, a run or walk on this treadmill is considerably more forgiving for your joints and back.
This ADVENOR treadmill is equipped with a manual incline system similar to the Sunny Health & Fitness FA-7967. This being said, the machine cannot auto-adjust the incline. Also, in order to adjust the incline of the deck, you have to pause your workout and step off the treadmill.
The unit’s incline system consists of two folding feet placed at the rear of the deck. They are made of durable thermoplastic material and have three levels of adjustment. You can lock each foot in the desired position with a pull pin.
Needless to say, the incline range offered by this treadmill is not exceptional; it is approx. 0° – 2°. But even those two degrees of incline add quite a bit of difficulty to the ride, so it’s better than no incline whatsoever.
The deck step-up height is approx. 6″ (15 cm) when the rear stabilizers are unfolded (or locked in the highest position). Therefore, to avoid any inconveniences, it is recommended to use this treadmill in a room with a ceiling that is at least 10″ (25 cm) higher than the height of the tallest user.
Drive motor
The ADVENOR YD100003AAA is a motorized treadmill. This being said, it comes with a power cord featuring a standard US 3-prong plug and requires to be connected to an external power source. It is equipped with a 3.0 HP peak power motor designed to withstand prolonged running sessions without overheating or losing performance. It also integrates a small flywheel for motion stability.
The motor offers a speed range between 1 km/h and 14 km/h (0.6 MPH – 8.6 MPH). The speed is shown only in km/h, and there is no option to set it to MPH. The speed adjustment increments are 0.1 km/h, so the transition from a speed level to another is smooth, allowing you to easily adjust your pace.
The console makes available controls for gradual speed adjustment and quick adjustment. The quick speed adjustment controls allow you to select 2 km/h, 4 km/h, 6 km/h, 8 km/h, 10 km/h, and 12 km/h with the press of one button.
The motor itself is pretty quiet; it does not generate too much noise even if the machine is set to its highest speed. However, depending on your running technique, footwear, weight, and other factors, your cadence may generate more or less noise.
Console
The ADVENOR YD100003AAA treadmill is equipped with a pretty standard console. It features a 5-inch LCD display with blue LED backlight. The display is divided into 5 sub-sections in order to show up to 5 workout metrics at once. It indicates time, speed, distance, calories, and pulse. It does not have an RPM function or a pace count function. The pulse reading function is grip contact only; in other words, you have to hold on to the sensors integrated into the machine’s handgrips for it to track your pulse. Also, as we’ve mentioned above, speed and distance are shown only in metric units.
The console does not have Bluetooth, you cannot sync it with your smartphone or tablet, and it is not compatible with any fitness app. However, it has a pretty impressive range of pre-set programs. You have 64 workout programs to choose from and 8 workout modes with different specific intensity levels.
The console offers several other features. The most notable ones are the device holder, the bottle holders, and the sound system. The device holder consists of a small ledge above the main controls which can serve as support for your smartphone or tablet. The bottle holders are placed one on each side of the display. And finally, the sound system consists of two small speakers placed at the top of the unit. There is also an AUX port to which you can connect your smartphone, tablet, or MP3 player in order to play your music through the console.
Assembly and Maintenance
The treadmills’ deck with the motor, the rollers, and the belt comes pre-assembled. Therefore, you only have to attach the two upright bars and the console. This shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes. All the necessary tools are included and the manual provides pretty clear assembly instructions.
For maintenance, the belt requires periodic lubrication. A bottle of silicone lubricant is included with the machine. Other than this, it is recommended to keep the treadmill clean, especially the belt, to prevent any debris or textile fibers to be caught in the motor. It is also recommended to periodically inspect the machine to make sure everything still works as intended.
