It comes with a different fitness monitor but still has the Bluetooth connectivity feature.

Frame construction

The ShareVgo SRM2000 rower features a steel frame made of rectangular and cylindrical tubing. All the steel parts in its construction are coated with a rust-resistant paint finish. The color used is light gray, this being the only color available for this machine. The machine’s drive and resistant unit features two gray covers made of durable thermoplastic material, with a green panel in the middle for an extra aesthetic touch.

The rower is not too large; it’s actually considerably smaller than the Marnur air rower or the Murtisol air rower. With all the parts assembled, it is approx. 71″ (180 cm) long, and 20″ (51 cm) wide. However, the applicable user inseam for it is at least 38″ (96 cm). Therefore, this rower should be able to accommodate comfortably users between 5’0″ and 6’4″ (153 – 193 cm) with no problem. Also, the rail is slightly slanted forward. Thus, the rower provides a slightly more consistent workout for the legs.

The SRM2000 rower is foldable. Its rail with the seat can be folded up. With the rail folded up, the machine’s length is reduced to approx. 34″ (86 cm) while its height reaches approx. 47″ (119 cm).

This rowing machine is also pretty light. Its net weight is approx. 51 lbs (23 kg). This being said, it can be carried and assembled by only one person. Also, once it is assembled it can be moved even easier, as its front base stabilizer is equipped with two transport wheels.

Seat and handlebars

The ShareVgo SRM2000 rower is equipped with a pretty comfortable seat. To begin with, its top integrates a layer of foam cushioning while its cover is made of durable vinyl material. It has a bit of contouring to provide a better positioning for the user. It is approx. 12″ (30 cm) wide so it provides plenty of contact surface.

The base of the seat is made of steel. It integrates three sets of wheels. Two of them slide on top of the rail. The third closes the seat assembly at the bottom for improved stability. The wheels integrate sealed bearings for a smooth motion. They also have a rubber layer on the outside to reduce noise.

The machine’s rail and the seat are pretty durable. They are rated for a maximum user weight limit of 285 lbs (129 kg) which is not bad for a home-use rower. Also, since the rail is slightly inclined forward, the seat is a bit higher when it is close to the rear. Its highest position from the floor is approx. 10″ (25.4 cm).

The ShareVgo SRM2000 rower is equipped with two large footrests made of thermoplastic material. They have heel guards, adjustable straps, and a textured surface for improved foot stability. Their size is not adjustable but they should be able to accommodate athletic shoes of any size.

The footrests have a pivoting design. This design allows them to tilt on their axis when you row, in order to adapt better to the pressure applied by your feet during rowing. They have stoppers at the heel, though, so they won’t tilt backward past approx. 50°.

The machine’s pulling handle consists of a short straight metallic bar. It features PVC foam sleeves for an improved grip. It does not have pulse sensors or other any controls for the rower. It attaches to a heavy-duty nylon strap highly resistant to abrasion.

Resistance system

The ShareVgo SRM2000 rower is equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. This being said, you don’t need an adapter or an external power source for the rower. But on the other hand, the included fitness monitor does not have pre-set programs and cannot auto-adjust the resistance as you row.

The main resistance element is an internal magnetic brake which is connected to the tension knob on the front unit of the rower through a steel cable. When you turn the knob, the brake moves closer or farther from the internal flywheel which increases or decreases the workout load. The main advantage of the magnetic resistance system is that the brake does not touch the flywheel. This leads to a very smooth and quiet rowing motion.

The machine’s internal flywheel is not too heavy. It weighs only 8.8 lbs (4 kg). However, it is perimeter-weighted which adds momentum and improves motion stability.

The machine makes available 8 tension levels. The lowest level delivers a rowing difficulty slightly higher than other similar machines, but nonetheless, it’s still a fairly light workout load. The 8th level of resistance, on the other hand, provides considerably more resistance for a more consistent workout.

Similar to most other full-magnetic rowing machines, the ShareVgo SRM2000 does not offer a dynamic response during usage. This means that the rowing difficulty does not depend on how fast you pull the handle as is the case for water rowing machines or air resistance rowers. Since it is a magnetic rower, the resistance only depends on the selected resistance level. This shouldn’t be a major inconvenience, it’s just that the rowing sensation of an air rower or water rower is closer to the sensation of rowing a real boat. The machine still provides a pretty consistent full-body cardio workout.

Fitness monitor

The ShareVgo SRM2000 magnetic rower is equipped with a pretty basic fitness monitor. It does not have pre-set programs but does have Bluetooth connectivity and allows you to sync your rower with your smartphone or tablet via the ShareVgo Fitness App. This app is available for both iOS and Android systems. You can install it by scanning the provided QR code with your phone.

The ShareVgo app offers the possibility to create goals for your workouts, track calories burned, time/500m, and also has a BMI function. It offers various challenges. It allows you to track your progress online or share it with social media. Plus, you can sync it with Apple Health and most heart rate monitors in order to keep track of your pulse during the workout, as well as view your average heart rate per workout.

The usage of the ShareVgo app is not necessary, though. The fitness monitor still offers a set of basic features on its own. It has an LCD display that tracks time, count, total count, and distance. It features three buttons – Set, Mode, and Reset. The Set button allows you to select goals for time, distance, and stroke count. The Mode button covers the selection function; you can press it repeatedly to select the metric that you want to view, or select the Scan Mode which rotates all the metrics showing each one for a few seconds. And finally, the Reset button clears all the values on the monitor to zero.

The fitness monitor is battery-powered. It requires two AAA batteries. It starts up when you begin rowing or when you press one of the buttons and automatically turns off if it does not detect any activity on the rower for more than 4 minutes. It also offers the possibility to place a tablet or phone on top of it. However, it does not have any ports for your phone (no USB, no AUX).

Assembly and Maintenance

The drive and resistance unit of the machine comes pre-assembled and attached to the front part of the frame. Therefore, you only need to add the front base stabilizer, insert the seat on the rail, connect the rail to the front unit of the rower, add the rear stabilizer, the footrests, and the fitness monitor. This shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes of your time. All the tools necessary for the assembly are included. Also, the included manual provides clear, step-by-step assembly instructions.

For maintenance, you don’t really have to do much. The internal are pre-lubricated. The main aspect to have in mind for maintenance is keeping the machine’s rail clean, free of dust, textile fibers, or small objects that may damage the wheels of the seat, or cause nicks into the rail. Also, a periodic check for loose parts and bolts is recommended.
