The OVICX X3 is one of the treadmills released in the second part of 2020. It’s an electric treadmill without an incline system but has a folding design and a compact frame great for apartment use. It’s not exactly one of the most affordable trainers in this feature range and it’s not a commercial-grade machine, however, it offers fairly decent value for the price.

Frame construction
The OVICX X3 treadmill features a pretty sturdy frame made of steel tubing but it also integrates several
parts made of heavy-duty thermoplastic material. For example, the cover of the motor and the side rail covers are made of tough plastic. Also, the side rail covers have a textured surface for an improved grip and foot stability.
The machine’s frame combines rectangular and cylindrical steel tubing for extra sturdiness and improved aesthetics. All the steel parts are coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish. The upright posts, the front transversal bar, and the rear base stabilizer have a gray paint finish while the base frame is black in color.
The fully set up treadmill is fairly large. It is approx. 67.2″ (171 cm) long, and 32.6″ (83 cm) wide. Plus, just as for any other treadmill, you should leave at least three feet of clearance at the rear of the running platform, and at least two feet of clearance on each side, for safe usage.
The machine is foldable. The two upright bars with the console can fold down, over the deck. The handlebars can be unlocked and folded via the button under the right grip, while the upright bars lock and unlock via the lever at the base of the unit. The treadmill’s folded dimensions are 67.2″L x 32.6″W x 12.9″H (171 x 83 x 33 cm). So, in case you’re wondering, the machine won’t fit under the average bed, but it can be stored vertically.
Another aspect that needs to be mentioned here is the machine’s weight. The OVIX X3 electric treadmill is fairly heavy. Its net weight is 154.3 lbs (70 kg). This being said, the packaged machine should be carried by two people. However, once it was removed from its box and set up, it can be easily moved by only one person as its front base is equipped with transport wheels. Also, its rear base stabilizer integrates adjustable levelers.
Deck construction
One of the first important aspects to mention here regards the fact that the OVIX X3 treadmill does not have an incline system. Therefore, you cannot adjust the angle of the deck. Its running platform is horizontal, providing a neutral and natural stride.
The machine is equipped with a multi-layer belt. The top layer is designed to provide a superior grip and foot stability while the other layers reduce vibration and improve traction. The belt’s active surface is 51.18″L x 17.7″W (130L x 45W cm) so it provides plenty of walking/running space. The exact dimensions of the internal rollers are not specified, but they do have a crowned design. This not only improves traction, but it also prolongs the lifespan of the belt. The rollers integrate industrial-grade sealed bearings for a smooth belt motion.
Like most other treadmills, this OVICX model is equipped with a deck cushioning system. Its deck integrates several air capsules designed to reduce the impact generated during walking or running. Thus, a walk or run on this machine offers better protection for your knees, ankles, and back, resulting in less workout-related pain.
Last but not least, the deck step-up height is approx. 9″ (22 cm). This being said, you should be able to use it without any issues in a room with a ceiling that is at least 15″ (38 cm) higher than your own height.
Drive motor
The OVICX X3 is equipped with an electric motor that offers a peak power of 3.0 MPH. It’s designed to
withstand prolonged workouts and has its own internal cooling system. It also integrates a small flywheel for improved motion stability. Needless to say, the machine includes a power cord with a standard U.S. plug.
The OVICX X3 treadmill offers a speed range between 0.6 MPH and 12.4 MPH. The speed adjustment increments are 0.1 MPH. You can adjust the speed from the large knob/button on the console, or via the smart speed adjustment controls integrated into the right grip of the machine. This smart speed adjustment system is basically a function that allows you to quickly change from running speed (7.5 MPH) to walking speed (2.4 MPH), and vice-versa.
The motor itself doesn’t generate too much noise. It is definitely quieter than the motor of a gym-grade treadmill. Also, the AirCushioning system integrated into the deck is designed to reduce some of the noise generated by your cadence. However, the machine can still be heard when it is in use. It is not completely silent, but the noise level is pretty low.
Console
The OVICX X3 treadmill features a console with a minimalistic design, similar up to a point to the one
on the ASUNA 8730. It only has one large knob in the middle which covers multiple functions, such as speed adjustment, data selection, etc. It has a LED display divided into 5 sub-sections which show calories burned, speed, distance, time, and the program in use. Speed and distance are shown in MPH and miles; there is no option for setting them to km/h and kilometers, only if you opt for the version that is set to metric units.
The console has 13 built-in programs. Evidently, if one of the programs is selected, the machine will auto-adjust the speed depending on the layout of the program. Each program targets a specific workout. For example, some will progressively increase the speed, then decrease it, others have an interval layout, while others focus on helping you maintain a steady heart rate.
On top of the pre-set programs, the treadmill also has Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the FitShow app. Therefore, you can download this app on your phone via the provided QR code, and sync your phone with the treadmill. This way, the app can track your total distance traveled, number of steps, total calories burned, and more.
The treadmill itself doesn’t have built-in pulse sensors but comes with a wireless HR chest strap. Thus, if you want it to monitor your heart rate, you will have to wear the strap.
One last aspect to mention here regards the device holder. This attaches to the top section of the console and can serve as support for your smartphone. A non-slip sticker for the device holder is also included.
Assembly and Maintenance
The OVICX X3 treadmill comes pre-assembled. All you need to do is remove it from its package, unfold it, secure its upright bars and console into the correct positions, and plug the machine in. This shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes, and the manual provides clear instructions for the task.
For maintenance, the belt should be kept clean to prevent dirt or textile fibers to accumulate inside the motor casing. The belt requires periodic lubrication and a bottle of treadmill oil is included. Other than this, it is recommended to remove the perspiration that may fall onto the frame at the end of the workout and periodically check if all the parts still hold properly in place and function properly.
