The Sunny SF-T7951 is one of the new treadmills released by Sunny Health & Fitness in 2020. It’s a mid-range treadmill designed for home use, featuring an LED console with 15 programs and automatic incline. It has a similar design to the ASUNA 8730 model but offers superior speed range and weight capacity.

Frame and deck
The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7951 features a durable steel frame with a solid deck, rated for 
users up to 265 lbs (120 kg). However, it also integrates several ABS plastic parts in its construction. For example, the side rail covers, the motor covers, and the console casing are ABS-made. The frame steel parts are all coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish; the color used is gray, this being the only color available for this model, at least for the moment.
Considering that it only offers a running surface of 50″L x 20″W (127 x 51 cm), the Sunny SF-T7951 is also smaller than other models in this feature range, such as the XTERRA TR300, for example. With all the parts assembled, it is approx. 61.5″ (156 cm) long, and 35″ (89 cm) wide. It still is recommended, though, to leave at least three feet of clearance at the rear and at least two feet on each side of it, for ease of access and safe usage.
One of the major pluses with regards to this Sunny treadmill is its folding design. Its two upright post fold flat alongside the deck. Also, the unit can be stored vertically or under a bed if there is a clearance of at least 15″ (40 cm). When stored vertically, its footprint becomes approx. 14″ (35 cm) deep, and 35″ (89 cm) wide.
The fully assembled unit is pretty heavy. It weighs approx. 127 lbs (57.6 kg). Therefore, the transport of the boxed unit requires two persons. But once it is set up, it can easily be relocated by its front transport wheels. Also, both its front and rear bases have adjustable stabilizers so you can perfectly level it on any type of floor.
The treadmill integrates a multi-layered belt with a top, thicker layer for extra durability and adherence. As we’ve mentioned above, it offers a running surface of 50″L x 20″W (127 x 51 cm). This being said, it can accommodate users up to 6’0″ (183 cm) with no problem, even for running workouts. However, taller users may not benefit from a complete range of motion when running.
The unit’s deck integrates several cushioning elements, but they’re all concealed by the side rails. This being said, it considerably reduces the impact on your joints and back during running.
Last but not least, the exact size of the unit’s rollers is not specified. It is certain that they’re both crowned for an improved belt lifespan and superior traction. They also integrate heavy-duty, sealed ball bearings for a smooth rotation.
Incline and step-up height
The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7951 is equipped with a motorized incline system. This means you can adjust 
the ramp of the deck from the console during the workout. Also, all the preset programs adjust both the speed and incline automatically.
The incline system consists of a motor separate from the drive motor, and a lift, both placed at the front of the deck. As you adjust the incline from the console, the lift elevates the front of the deck increasing the ramp of the running surface.
It’s important to mention here that the machine’s deck is not completely horizontal, even with the incline set at level 0. It has approx. 3° of incline by default. Conversely, the maximum incline is approx. 7°.
The unit’s console makes available 15 incline levels. The incline adjusts gradually, in increments that are less than 1°. The console has controls for gradual incline adjustment but also has quick incline selection buttons for the incline levels 3, 6, and 9.
The unit’s running surface is situated at approx. 7″ (17 cm) above floor level. This being said, stepping on the tread belt shouldn’t be too difficult. Also, with the incline set to maximum, the front side of the deck becomes elevated by several inches. Therefore, it is recommended to place and use the machine in a room with a ceiling that is at least 15″ (38 cm) higher than your own height.
Drive motor
The exact horsepower of the SF-T7951 motor is not specified. But considering that it provides a speed range between 0.6 MPH and 10 MPH, it should be between 2.0 and 2.5 HP. It is designed to provide a continuous belt motion during prolonged workouts even if the user is close to the maximum 265 lbs (120 kg) capacity.
The speed adjustment increments are approx. 0.1 MPH. Therefore, the transition from a level to another is done smoothly without jerks or sudden changes, so you can easily adapt your pace. Just as for the incline, the console offers controls for gradual speed adjustment and quick speed adjustment for 3 MPH, 6 MPH, and 9 MPH.
As we’ve mentioned above, this Sunny treadmill offers several preset workout programs. Each one adjusts both the speed and the incline. Needless to say, during each program, the automatic speed adjustment is also done smoothly, allowing you to adapt your pace.
The motor itself is fairly quiet. It doesn’t generate a lot of noise when in use, but when running at a higher speed, the thumping of your cadence will be heard. Also, since it isn’t an extremely powerful motor, you won’t have to worry about a high electricity bill even if you use the machine daily.
Console
The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7951 is equipped with an LED display console. Its display is divided 
into 5 sections. From left to right, they indicate calories burned, current incline, time, distance traveled, and current speed. Speed and distance are shown in MPH and miles. Also, it’s important to mention here that the machine does not have a pulse reading function. Therefore, in case you need to monitor your heart rate during your workouts, you will have to use a separate device.
The console offers 15 preset programs. Each program is divided into 20 segments. For each segment. Therefore, if you set a specific time limit for your workout and select a program, it will be divided to 20, for each segment.
The console also has target selections functions for time, distance, and calories. If a target is selected for any of these workout metrics, the console will count down from the selected value until it reaches 0.
Among other notable functions, we can mention the USB port, the built-in Bluetooth, and the speakers. The USB port only offers recharging possibilities for your phone or tablet. The treadmill is not compatible with any online fitness apps and you cannot stream your workout data online. The Bluetooth function allows you to sync your smartphone or tablet with the console and play your music through the integrated speakers. It’s important to mention here that the Bluetooth connection is only for the speakers; the machine cannot read your pulse from a Bluetooth HR chest strap transmitter.
Last but not least, the console features a tablet holder. This accessory is integrated at the top of the console and it’s foldable. It is also large enough to accommodate any tablet.
Assembly and Maintenance
The Sunny SF-T7951 treadmill comes almost completely assembled. All you need to do is unbox it, unfold the two upright bars with the console, lock them up via their knobs, and plug in the machine. This shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes of your time; also, the manual provides very clear assembly instructions.
In terms of maintenance, the unit’s deck requires periodic lubrication every two months if the machine is used for less than three hours per week or every month if it is used more often. The lubrication is easily done via the oil plug at the front of the deck; it doesn’t require you to pull up the belt. Also, a bottle of lubricant is included with the machine. Other than this, it is also recommended to keep the belt clean and periodically check for loose bolts and parts.
