It is also referred to as ExerWORK Desk Recumbent Bike and its part number is 7170.

Frame construction
The bike’s structural frame is made of durable steel tubing. Its main chassis is a single piece with the seat base directly welded to it. This results in extra sturdiness. Also, the fully assembled unit is not extremely heavy, but still weighs over 70 lbs (~33 kg), and this weight provides extra stability.
The bike’s frame does not fold, nor it can be stored vertically. However, its front base has a set of wheels which facilitate its relocation, if necessary. The rear base bar is curved and finished with a set of polygonal caps which can rotate, offering the possibility to perfectly stabilize it on any type of floor.
Of course, the bike’s construction integrates several ABS parts as well. The covers of the drive system and the desktop are ABS made. All the metallic bars within the frame are coated with corrosion-resistant paint. The color used is metallic gray, this being the only color available for this bike.
The bike isn’t extremely large but does take approx. 53.5″L x 25″W (136 x 63 cm) of floor space. Plus, it is recommended to leave at least two feet of clearance on each side, and at least one foot of clearance at the front and rear, for safe usage and ease of access.
The bike’s frame features a step-through design. This can be a plus for users with certain disabilities. That’s because, in order to position yourself on the seat, you won’t have to step over the whole drive system unit or the seat adjustment bar as it is the case with other recumbent bikes, such as the JOROTO MH20 or the Schwinn A20.
Seat and desk
The Exerpeutic 2500 recumbent exercise bike is equipped with a seat designed for comfort. It features a 3.3″ extra thick AirSoft cushion with improved breathability. It’s fairly large, offering a contact surface of approx. 17″W x 13″D (43 x 33 cm). The backrest also has 2″ (5 cm) of cushioning and provides firm support.
The whole seat assembly can be adjusted closer or farther from the pedals on its sliding rail. It offers several inches of adjustment, so that the bike can accommodate users between 5’0″ and 6’0″ (153 – 183 cm). The backrest is also angle-adjustable, offering three positions.
The seat is equipped with a set of handlebars which have rubberized grips for optimal comfort. However, they do not integrate pulse sensors, and the unit’s exercise meter does not have a pulse reading function.
Since it’s a desk exercise bike, its front handlebar is basically replaced with a desktop. This part is made of durable ABS material with two molded cup supports. It also has a soft foam armrest element for improved comfort. It is fairly large, offering a work surface of 24″W x16″D (61 x 41 cm). It’s also solid enough to support a load up to 44 lbs (20 kg).
Just as the seat, the desk element offers 4-way adjustability. Its height adjustment range is between 36.5″ and 41″ (93 – 104 cm). It also offers 7 positions of angle-adjustment, between 0° and 30°.
Resistance and drive
The bike is equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. This means you don’t have to connect it to a power source in order to control its resistance. It features an internal magnetic flywheel which is connected to the tension knob on top of the drive unit of the bike. In order to adjust its resistance, you simply have to turn the knob, which moves the internal magnetic brake closer or farther from the flywheel, increasing or decreasing the pedaling difficulty.
The main advantage of a magnetic brake in an exercise bike is that the brake elements do not touch; the resistance is created by increasing or decreasing the intensity of the magnetic field, so there is no internal friction. Therefore, the bike generates almost no noise when in use.
The bike offers 14 levels of resistance. The lowest one is very light, great for anyone who requires recovery training. Conversely, the 14th level of resistance provides significantly more pedal tension, offering the possibility to get a more intense workout.
The bike’s internal flywheel is balanced, designed to provide a smooth pedaling motion. Its weight is not specified, but considering that the whole weight of the bike is only 72.6 lbs (33 kg), its flywheel probably doesn’t weigh more than 20 lbs (9 kg). This being said, the bike doesn’t offer a very aggressive inertia like spin bikes, for example, being great for recovery training, or for light to medium-intensity, low-impact cardio training.
The bike features a durable 3-piece crankset which is equipped with steel crank arms and weighted pedals, which means that they will always turn face-up when you remove your feet from them. The pedals have adjustable straps and an adherent surface in order to deliver optimal foot stability during pedaling.
Of course, like most other exercise bikes equipped with a magnetic resistance system, the ExerWORK desk bike features a belt transmission. There are several advantages related to a belt drivetrain. For example, the pedaling motion is very smooth, and you don’t have to take the front unit apart to lubricate the transmission as it is the case for chain drive bikes
Exercise meter
The bike’s desktop integrates a small exercise meter. It features an LCD display which indicates time, distance, total distance, speed, and calories burned. It does not have a pulse reading function. Also, speed and distance can only be displayed in imperial units (MPH and miles); there is no setting for metric units.
The exercise meter is very easy to use. It has two buttons, Mode and Reset. The Mode button allows you to select one of the workout metrics to view at all time or select the Scan mode which rotates them, showing each one for 6 seconds. The Reset button clears all the values on the meter to zero, except the total distance.
Although it’s a basic unit, the bike’s fitness meter has a Bluetooth function. Therefore, you can sync it with your smartphone through the MyCloudFitness app. This way, you can track your progress online, and also use three goal settings for Time, Distance, and Calories.
Last but not least, the meter requires two AAA batteries as its power source. It starts up when you begin pedaling or when you press the Mode button. It also automatically turns off if there is no activity on the bike for 4 minutes.
Assembly and Maintenance
The main body of the bike comes pre-assembled. Therefore, you only have to attach the base bars, the seat, the console mast, the desktop, and the pedal. This may take more than an hour. However, the process is far from being complicated. The manual provides very clear schematics and assembly instructions, and all the necessary assembly tools are included.
Maintenance doesn’t require much. You only have to remove the dust from the bike from time to time, and periodically inspect the unit for loose parts to retighten them if it’s the case.
