Frame construction

As we’ve mentioned above, the Mihe Fitness X900 indoor cycling bike features a K-type frame. This type of construction places the bike’s center of gravity closer to the floor which increases its overall stability. The frame is made of oval steel tubing. All the steel parts are coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish, gray in color, this being the only color available for this bike, at least for the moment.

The bike’s body also integrates several plastic parts. But these are mostly covers or parts for protective or cosmetic purposes, so they don’t reduce the bike’s overall sturdiness. The most notable ones are the flywheel cover and the drivetrain cover.

The bike is not super heavy. With all the parts assembled, it is approx. 82 lbs (37 kg). Therefore, the packaged unit may require two people for transport. However, once the bike is assembled, it can easily be moved by only one person as its front base features a set of wheels. Also, both base stabilizers have adjustable levelers.

The bike is not too large either. Its footprint is approx. 44.7″L x 22.5″W (114 x 57 cm). It is recommended, though, to leave at least a few feet of clearance all around it for ease of access.

Seat and handlebars

The Mihe X900 is equipped with a seat designed for optimal comfort. It is a bit wider than the average slim race bike seat, and has a thicker layer of foam cushioning. Its cover is made of double-stitched faux leather material. It is contoured and also has a median cutout for improved breathability.

The seat has a standard collar-type attachment system. Therefore, you can easily remove it and replace it if necessary. Also, compatible replacements are widely available.

The seat is four-way adjustable (up, down, front, back). The upright post offers 12 adjustment positions while the horizontal slider has 7 adjustment positions. This being said, the bike should be able to accommodate users between 5’1″ and 6’4″ (155 – 193 cm) with no problem, allowing a complete leg extension. It is also rated for a maximum user weight limit of 270 lbs (122 kg).

The bike’s handlebar is only two-way adjustable (up, down). It lacks the horizontal slider. However, its adjustment posit is oblique, so the higher you set it, the wider the distance between it and the seat will be as well.

The handlebar has a multi-grip design. It offers the possibility to adopt a climbing grip, an off-road grip, a standard grip, or a close grip. It is covered by a layer of rubber-foam material for an improved grip. It does not have pulse sensors.

Resistance system

The Mihe Fitness X900 is equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. Therefore, you don’t need a power adapter or an external power source for it. But on the other hand, since the bike is not motorized, it does not adjust the resistance automatically like the more expensive spin bikes.

The bike’s resistance system consists of a magnetic brake placed above the flywheel, connected to the tension knob on top of the frame, and concealed by the flywheel guards. Therefore, when you turn the knob, the magnets change their position in relation to the flywheel which increases or reduces the workout load.

The magnetic brake also has a small felt pad at the front. Thus, you can also press the tension knob all the way down to stop the flywheel from spinning.

The main advantage of a magnetic brake over a friction brake is that the brake pad does not touch the flywheel. Thus, there is no friction, no wear-and-tear, and the pedaling motion is very smooth and quiet. Plus, due to the zero friction, the magnets do not sustain any wear-and-tear, while the emergency brake pad at the front of the magnetic brake should last for many years.

The bike doesn’t have pre-determined resistance levels like other exercise bikes. You simply turn the knob left or right until you get the desired resistance. As a general idea, the lowest level provides a fairly light pedaling difficulty. Conversely, the highest level delivers quite a challenge, even for the most seasoned cyclists.

Drive system

The Mihe X900 indoor cycle is equipped with a fully covered flywheel, similar to the YESOUL M1 bike. It is perimeter-weighted in order to provide superior inertia which is great for spin workouts. It is also bi-directional. Therefore, you can pedal in reverse if you want. Coasting on the bike is not possible, though.

The flywheel is not too heavy, though. It only weighs 20 lbs (9 kg), while other spin bikes have flywheels over 40 lbs (18 kg). However, combined with the magnetic resistance, this flywheel still provides a pretty consistent pedaling motion.

The bike comes with a set of pedals made from aluminum alloy. They are durable enough to stand on as long as you don’t exceed the maximum specified user weight limit. They have adjustable toe cages but do not have SPD clips for spin shoes. Their threads are 9/16 so you can easily find replacements for them, though, if you will ever want to change them.

The crank arms are pretty sturdy as well. They have a flat design for improved sturdiness and feature a black paint finish. They are rather short, though. Therefore, the bike doesn’t offer a very ample pedaling motion, especially for a tall person. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as a general idea, workout sessions on this bike will put more focus on the lower leg muscles.

The bike is equipped with a belt drivetrain. It uses a poly-v belt resistant to stretching and abrasion. This belt drive system comes with several advantages over a regular chain drive. For example, it generates slightly less vibration and noise than a chain. It also does not require periodic lubrication.

Bluetooth connection and other accessories

First of all, the Mihe X900 exercise bike does not come with a fitness monitor. However, it integrates a Bluetooth module which allows you to sync your bike with the OVICX fitness app. The front cover of the handlebar has a QR code sticker which you can scan with your phone to install the app.

The app is available for both iOS and Android devices. Once installed, it provides various features. First of all, it tracks several workout metrics such as wattage, RPM, distance, and calories burned. It does not have a pulse reading function, though, and the bike does not integrate any pulse sensors. Cycling classes are also available through the app, as well as a workout history feature.

The internal Bluetooth module is battery-powered. The battery is already installed, but its exact type is not specified. It is probably a CR2477 battery similar to the Bluetooth models of other similar bikes. Its location is at the top of the handlebar under the insulation strip and can easily be accessed.

In terms of other accessories, the bike has a device holder and a bottle holder. The device holder is integrated into the handlebar. The bottle holder can be attached to any cylindrical grip of the handlebar. It’s made from a flexible ABS material and should be able to accommodate most hydration bottles.

Assembly and Maintenance

The main body of the bike comes pre-assembled. You only need to attach the two base bars, the seat, the pedals, the handlebars, and the bottle holder. This shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. All the necessary tools are included and the manual provides step-by-step instructions.

Since the bike has a belt drive system, its transmission does not require lubrication. In fact, once the unit is assembled, it doesn’t require too much maintenance at all. You just need to keep it clean and periodically inspect it to make sure that all the parts still function properly and hold tight in their places.
